Arthur was settling into the armchair, watching Rias efficiently dismantle the Exorcists' position, when a jarring realization hit him, a ripple in the fabric of the narrative he'd just disrupted.
He had intervened too soon, too completely.
He looked at Issei, who was still trying to process the reappearance of Irina, and then at the empty space in the room.
Issei was supposed to have met a kind, small girl—a pure-hearted, exiled Exorcist healer named Asia Argento—during this timeframe, forming a bond that would become central to his life.
Because Arthur stopped the external conflict before it even began, Issei never went to the park, never stumbled upon her, and never invited her to a date that would eventually lead to her tragic death and subsequent reincarnation.
'Shit. I messed up the timeline's character development,'
Arthur cursed internally.
His immense power and casual intervention had saved a lot of furniture, but at the cost of a crucial meeting that was meant to happen.
He felt a sharp pang of responsibility; the death and resurrection of Asia was a painful event, but it was necessary for her to join the peerage and for Issei's emotional growth.
"Rias, I'm cutting out,"
Arthur announced, rising quickly.
"I just realized I caused a major problem, and I have to fix it. This negotiation is yours, but I need you to give me the exact location of that rogue Fallen Angel, Dohnaseek, right now."
Rias, surprised by his sudden urgency, quickly pulled up a holographic map.
"Dohnaseek is currently moving through the outskirts of town, near the old abandoned church. Why?"
"Never mind why,"
Arthur replied.
"He has something I need to secure."
He activated his Reality Blending, focusing on a specific signature of pure Holy essence and pain he knew would be near Dohnaseek.
Arthur didn't teleport into the church; he materialized in a dark, empty alleyway on the street behind it.
He immediately sensed the presence of Dohnaseek's chaotic energy and another faint, heartbreakingly pure Holy aura.
He walked quickly, turning the corner just in time to see the scene he had prevented earlier: the Fallen Angel Dohnaseek, a cruel, cloaked figure, standing over a small, slumped figure who was trying to shield her golden cross.
The girl was Asia Argento.
Her hair was a bright, shimmering blonde, and her eyes were wide with terrified exhaustion.
She was clearly being cornered and tormented by the Fallen Angel, who was preparing to steal her sacred gear.
Arthur rushed forward, not with a Dragonic blast, but with a controlled, lightning-fast application of his power for pure speed.
He was moving to protect her, not obliterate the enemy.
Dohnaseek barely registered the new arrival before Arthur was there, standing between the Fallen Angel and Asia.
"Bad day for preying on little girls, dude,"
Arthur said, his voice cold. He had fixed the plot, but he was going to make sure the villain paid for his actions against a sweet, innocent healer.
"You're done."
Dohnaseek, seeing the overwhelming power and the sheer arrogance of the youth, knew instantly he was facing a threat far greater than any Devil.
His eyes darted to the young girl on the ground, then to the imposing figure who had appeared out of nowhere.
"Who... who are you?"
Dohnaseek hissed, his fear palpable.
Arthur didn't answer with a name. He simply extended his hand, and the very concept of flight suddenly vanished from the Fallen Angel. Dohnaseek's black, feathered wings violently seized up, becoming rigid and brittle.
"Just call me the guy who fixes broken timelines,"
Arthur said, before effortlessly knocking the terrified Fallen Angel unconscious with a single, precise chop to the neck.
Dohnaseek collapsed onto the cracked concrete.
Arthur turned, his focus now entirely on the terrified girl.
He knelt down gently, meeting her frightened blue eyes.
"Hey. I'm Arthur. You're safe now. I'm sorry that it took me so long."
