"Dad, do you have 800,000?"
Lin Yang casually asked, convinced his dad would have that amount, if not more.
Lin Guoping tossed a fried and burnt peanut into his mouth and frowned; the peanut was bitter.
"Yes, didn't I tell you? Your sister's been sending us money over the years, and I've saved it all up."
Lin Yang smiled, sat beside Lin Guoping, and filled his empty cup with alcohol.
Lin Guoping laughed heartily; his son had grown up discerning.
"See, I've been unemployed for a while, staying at home all this time. Now that Tianxin is back, focusing on taking care of the child, I need to start something too. I want to partner with friends in a business venture, but I'm a bit short on funds."
Lin Guoping's eyes lit up upon hearing Lin Yang wanted to start a business; he'd hoped his son could make something of himself his whole life.
Being home all the time before, he couldn't say much; it wouldn't be right to hurt his confidence.
Men care about their dignity.
