Chapter 417 - Chapter 209 Talot Vs Goku! (Part 1)

Krillin's full-power attacks in his base form had absolutely no effect on Raditz.

After all, there was a disparity in their power levels. The two of them weren't even in the same dimension strength-wise.

In Raditz's eyes, Krillin's moves looked pathetically slow.

Raditz didn't take the initiative to attack. He was still waiting for Krillin to bring out his trump card, the Kaio-ken, to spar with him.

Otherwise, if the battle ended like this, it would be meaningless.

After several failed attempts to hurt Raditz, Krillin stopped wasting his time.

"3x Kaio-ken!!" This was the highest multiplier Krillin could currently handle.

Kaio-ken is a technique with extremely harsh training requirements. Even with guidance from North Kai, those who learned it still faced strict limits on how far they could push it.

Unlike Saiyans, whose bodies were far tougher than most races and could constantly push past their limits to withstand higher Kaio-ken multipliers.

With the boost from 3x Kaio-ken, Krillin's power level skyrocketed, soaring in no time to an astonishing 195 million.

"Now this is a little interesting. Come, let's fight!" Sensing the boundless blood-red aura coming from Krillin, Raditz's interest was piqued.

Although this aura still wasn't enough to make him go all out in his base form, it was enough for him to fight seriously.

He could also use this chance to warm up for the semifinals. He might have to face Talot in the next match.

A fierce battle erupted.

With 3x Kaio-ken, Krillin's speed, strength, and defense all experienced a qualitative leap.

He could now face Raditz head-on, and their clash was extremely intense. Combat techniques collided, Energy Balls exploded, and the fight kept heating up.

Unfortunately, while 3x Kaio-ken made Krillin much stronger, he was still too far behind Raditz.

Raditz's power in his base form was the real deal. Kaio-ken couldn't make up the gap. Never mind 3x Kaio-ken, even a 4x Kaio-ken wouldn't be enough. Raditz could handle it with ease.

Before long, as time passed, Krillin's stamina in 3x Kaio-ken gradually ran dry. Unable to hold out any longer, he was finally knocked off the arena by Raditz and eliminated.

With this, the last match of the quarterfinals ended.

Raditz, unsurprisingly, advanced to the Top four!

After exchanging a few pleasantries with Krillin, Raditz pulled him up off the ground and the two walked back to the backstage area together.

Everyone had witnessed Krillin's performance.

All in all, it was quite impressive.

Others might not have a clear definition, but Talot knew that Krillin's 3x Kaio-ken attacks would leave even original work's Frieza, with his power level of 120 million, utterly powerless.

...

With the quarterfinals over, the semifinal matchups were randomly assigned on the big screen.

The first match: Talot vs Goku!

The second match: Raditz vs Ragar!

At this stage of the tournament, only the strongest were left.

There was a half-hour break.

In the backstage rest area.

Everyone glanced at each other as Goku walked up to Talot.

"Brother Talot, please give me your guidance in the next match!" Goku, for once, was serious instead of his usual goofy self.

He knew there was a gap between his strength and Talot's, but he was still looking forward to fighting him.

All these years, he had been growing. For him, win or lose didn't matter; what mattered was being able to stand on the same stage as Talot and fight him fair and square.

He also wanted to see if he could more or less learn something from Talot in battle.

Talot, of course, wouldn't refuse Goku's sincere request for guidance.

"When the match starts, just use whatever techniques you've got, Kakarot. Honestly, I'm also curious, how far have you come after all these years?" Talot said with a big smile.

Facing Goku was truly unexpected.

He had originally thought his opponent would be either Raditz or Ragar.

"Yeah." Goku nodded firmly, then his serious expression faded, replaced by his signature smile.

Beside him, Chichi looked every bit the worried young wife.

At this moment, Chichi was really cute, and truly beautiful.

Goku was definitely a lucky guy. He'd help out however he could in the future; after all, they were basically family.

At the very least, he wouldn't let Chichi suffer like she did in the original work.

It shouldn't come to that anyway, since everyone's relationships were closer than in the original work, and Gine, Raditz, and Launch were all here.

On the other side.

Ragar and Raditz locked eyes.

The gazes of two top-tier powerhouses were both sharp.

They could each sense the powerful energy within the other's body.

"Come to think of it, I've never fought you before. I hope you won't hold back in our upcoming battle," Ragar remarked.

"That's right, we've never fought before. Now we finally have the chance, I won't let you down," Raditz said with a smirk.
