"Good night, Silas." Ebenezer smiled, pleased that the wizard was no longer an iceberg.
He was affected by his actions and that alone was enough to count as progress.
Silas softly glared at him, his alert golden eyes flickering with the smallest hint of interest before he glanced away from him.
"Stay away from me." Silas murmured as he turned away from the vampire, his voice not as harsh as he could have preferred.
Ebenezer Ashford was proving to be a much more dangerous and enticing temptation and Silas hoped he didn't let himself give in to his desires.
This trip could be done within a week at most and Silas couldn't have to see the vampire ever again.
It was a comforting thought but his chest clenched uncomfortably, betraying his mind.

The next morning, they set out on another round of mountain climbing and by midday, Silas was feeling much better since they were nearing the river that ran from the highest mountain peak.
