"You have beautiful eyes." Gareth smiled softly and Eros felt his cheeks burn up, certain that he was experiencing his mate being cheesy for the first time.
"Ah... thank you." Eros murmured as he lowered his eyes, feeling a little shy.
"Gareth, you are hurt." He pointed out after a short silence, his heart racing a marathon as he changed the topic.
Eros could be pouncing on the dragon if he let himself get lost in the heat of his touch and the softness in his eyes.
Eros had not yet forgiven him for breaking his heart during their last meeting. It had taken his absence for his mate to realize that he was worth his time and affection and that didn't make Eros so happy.
Gareth reluctantly withdrew his hands from his mate's face once he noticed that Eros couldn't even look at him.
It disheartened him a little but he tried to understand where his mate was coming from.
Eros was probably still angry with him and Gareth couldn't blame him.
