Chapter 416 - Chapter 416: The Vessel Rebellion

"There he goes again—bringing up that man and that Rin girl!"

Urashiki scratched his head. His usual air of smug playboy nobility had long since vanished. Watching Isshiki writhe in agony, he sighed heavily.

"Looks like Obito's gonna steal his body a few more times… Be careful he doesn't launch a sneak attack. That kid's dirty as hell when it comes to fighting."

Momoshiki sat gloomily on the ground and gave a small nod.

He, who once scoffed at shinobi as "inferior lifeforms," had fallen into a deep pit of despair after nearly being killed on the spot by a single punch from Kazuki.

To challenge someone like that and almost get blown to pieces—that was what it meant to be an inferior lifeform, wasn't it?

That crushing pain of having his pride—rooted in bloodline superiority—shattered in a single moment made Momoshiki want nothing more than to flee this cursed shinobi world and retreat back to the Ōtsutsuki Clan to quietly reflect…

Even Kazuki aside, just Uchiha Obito standing before him was enough to leave Momoshiki mentally broken.

The Kāma he relied on for survival couldn't even take over a mortal…

And what Momoshiki, Isshiki, and Urashiki didn't know was this—

Without Kazuki's help, even if Obito's willpower—boosted by his desperate, lovesick devotion—had reached the highest possible threshold in the shinobi world…

In the face of overwhelming strength, it still wouldn't have been enough.

To keep Obito from dying under the invasion of Isshiki's Kāma, Kazuki had infused a trace of his chakra into Obito's body, acting as a protective layer.

But that chakra couldn't be too powerful. If Obito grew too strong and Isshiki couldn't contain him, then with just Urashiki and Momoshiki—two low-tier members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan—there was a very real chance they wouldn't be able to handle a rampaging Obito who had devoured Isshiki… and might even get wiped out in the process.

Obito, after all, had grown up modeling himself after Kazuki. Under the tutelage of both Setsuna and Uchiha Madara—and later receiving guidance from Kazuki himself—he'd built a rock-solid foundation.

His level of combat finesse was far beyond the reach of so-called "superior beings" like Urashiki and Momoshiki, who only knew how to dominate when the battle tilted in their favor thanks to the Divine Tree.

In Kazuki's view, no matter how unhinged Obito might get, there was no way he'd ever use some ridiculous move like "Ōtsutsuki Elbow Strike" the way Urashiki had.

Kazuki had no desire to see Isshiki defeated by Obito.

He still needed Isshiki alive—needed him to maintain contact with the Ōtsutsuki pursuers without raising suspicion, and to gather intel in advance on future enemies.

And so…

The way Kazuki's chakra supported Obito was… subtle and precise.

Whenever Obito conjured an image of Kazuki in his heart—or muttered his name—Kazuki's implanted chakra would surge forward and refill his strength.

The logic behind it was simple: Kazuki knew—

When Obito was pushed to the brink and his mind began flashing through the memories of his life like a dying slideshow, he would inevitably think of him.

That was the best moment to keep him alive.

"AAAHHHHHH! DIE! JUST DIE ALREADY!"

Right after shouting Kazuki's name, Obito's features abruptly overlaid Isshiki's face—the scarlet Mangekyō replaced the Rinnegan, and a twisted shockwave exploded outward from him, shaking both Urashiki and Momoshiki.

"Damn it, not again! This lunatic!"

Urashiki and Momoshiki leapt back, barely dodging Obito's manic onslaught. Gritting their teeth, they glared as Obito once again wrestled Isshiki for control over the body.

A fierce internal battle broke out. The body they shared shifted like a left hand fighting the right—golden cross-shaped pupils and Kamui's swirling Mangekyō patterns flashed back and forth, surging and clashing for dominance in the battlefield of consciousness.

Only after a long while—

Did Isshiki's facial features finally settle back into place. Drenched in cold sweat, he collapsed helplessly to the ground, muttering to himself: "I've had enough of this! How did it come to this…? I wanted to move from planet to planet, planting Divine Trees and devouring chakra fruits to become a god…"

"Am I really going to fall here?"

The constant tug-of-war with Obito had left even the unshakable Isshiki spiritually fractured.

Become a god? Yeah, right.

He couldn't even overpower some love-crazed brat obsessed with his childhood crush. At this point, the entire Ōtsutsuki Clan ought to wash their hands and go home to sleep…

Urashiki and Momoshiki stood in silence as they watched the scene unfold.

This was, without a doubt, the most critical moment yet…

They didn't know why Kazuki hadn't caught up to finish them off.

But neither of them believed for a second that someone like Kazuki—who had demonstrated strength and bloodline on par with even the elite of the Ōtsutsuki Clan—would be incapable of tracking them down across timelines.

Maybe Kazuki was digesting the power within his body… maybe he had other plans…

But the moment he decided to deal with them, the fate of this Ōtsutsuki trio would be sealed. On that, Urashiki, Momoshiki, and Isshiki were all painfully clear.

"Why hasn't my distress signal been answered yet?"

Isshiki coughed violently, his golden pupils laced with bloodshot veins, and said through gritted teeth, filled with hatred: "I already told them—this planet is highly likely to be hiding Lord Shibai's remains! The clan must have received the call. Why haven't they responded!?"

"I'm telling you, the Ōtsutsuki Clan is finished! Uchiha Kazuki has Karasuki! If he even accidentally stumbles upon anything related to Lord Shibai, we're in serious trouble!"

"It's over. The Ōtsutsuki Clan is done for!"

In this desperate, powerless situation, Isshiki could only unleash his rage on the clan's support system—turning himself into a full-blown critic.

He had to vent the terror and fury surging inside him somehow!

"Haha! Look at you now, Isshiki! Complaining about the Ōtsutsuki Clan like some beaten dog! Someone with your lineage and power, brought down by me and Kazuki—you're just pathetic!"

Uchiha Obito burst out laughing, voice brimming with mockery and pride.

"You wanted to become a god? You? Don't make me laugh!"

"I've seen your memories—you couldn't even handle Kaguya, and she's just a branch family! And now you're here screaming like a child."

"Let me tell you—only Kazuki has the potential to become a god! Whether it's trash like you or any other Ōtsutsuki who shows up, Kazuki will cut you all down—one by one!"

"The corpse of the Ōtsutsuki god? Oh, don't worry—Kazuki probably already knows! He's going to devour your clan's strongest and then destroy the entire bloodline!"

Isshiki clenched his eyes shut in agony.

If cutting off his ears would let him block out Obito's barking, he would've done it in a heartbeat…

Unfortunately—

Having merged their consciousness, Isshiki could only passively endure the screaming on a soul-deep level.

Torture. This was pure torture!

"Bastard… You think Kazuki will get his hands on the Ōtsutsuki god's remains? Good! I hope he does."

After a brief pause, Isshiki's eyes lit up with a cruel glint as he retorted: "If he dares touch that body, let him be devoured by the Kāma sealed within. He'll become the perfect vessel for our clan's greatest being to resurrect through!"

"You're right—someone like Uchiha Kazuki might actually sniff it out… Let's see what happens. Maybe we won't even need support from the clan. Maybe the Kazuki you rely on will already be reduced to a sacrificial offering!"

"You, that reject spawned by Kaguya, and every other inferior species in the shinobi world—will all be crushed beneath Uchiha Kazuki's own hands!"

Truth be told—

Isshiki didn't actually know whether the remnants of the Ōtsutsuki god's corpse still held any lingering consciousness. Who could say for sure?

But Isshiki believed it was possible.

After all, this was once a being who had become a god. Even if what remained was merely a discarded shell, the power it held must still contain a supreme will…

In the end, it didn't matter whether it was true or not. What mattered was disturbing Uchiha Obito's state of mind.

"Despicable Ōtsutsuki Clan! You parasites—you ugly, repulsive creatures!"

Hearing that the Ōtsutsuki God's corpse might pose a threat, Obito immediately tensed up and lost control, cursing out loud.

And in that instant, Isshiki's heart surged with joy.

It worked.

As Obito's mind wavered, Isshiki clearly felt his own control over the body strengthening significantly…

But before Isshiki's smile could fully form, Obito's resistance flared up once again.

"Haha! I can't believe I was actually worried about Kazuki just now! If you trash could think of this, there's no way Kazuki hasn't already figured it out!"

Obito roared, "As long as Kazuki's alive—he will never lose!"

Isshiki almost coughed up blood.

He desperately wanted to crack Obito's skull open and check if Kazuki had planted some terrifying dōjutsu or cursed seal in there—how else could someone put this much blind faith in one person?
