The arena air remained thick with pressure after Cassian's final summoning motion. Then, with the deep creak of straining wood and a sharp crack like roots breaking through stone, the sixth dragon appeared.
A malformed creature: half-gold coloured dragon scales, half-living bark. At first glance, Kain saw remnants of what appeared to be the juvenile light dragon he'd heard about Cassian having—the elegant curve of its wings, the pale shimmer along its neck. But there were now two sets of mismatched wings: one set still radiated white-golden luminescence and was in the classical dragon shape, while the other was also white-gold but appeared veined with fibrous tendrils, and mroe closely resembled flower petals in shape and texture. Its horns were thicker than normal for a juvenile dragon and had grown jagged, the smooth sheen characteristic of dragons gone, replaced by the rough texture of aged bark.
