Chapter 108 - Pergitor

[37 BBY]

In orbit above Pergitor, we were watching the planet. Vorn was looking through the holograms, Chiro was looking out the window to the planet below. Our ship remains cloaked in orbit. As there are many other ships coming and going. The revolution is fully underway.

Mercenaries are coming and going constantly. The revolution is also much more destructive than I would've thought.

"Oh, there goes another city...", says Furia. As another sealed city is violently unsealed. The poison air flood the city and tens of thousands start to die.

The rebels and loyalists may have masks or sealed suits, but the common people don't widely have such equipment. As the the current state of Pergitor makes it difficult to make enough money to feed yourself. Let alone protective equipment. So, it is them that die in droves.

However, how else could this possibly go. The government was treating everyone as if they were indentured servants. Low pay, no benefits, no consideration. It was an unacceptable reality. The Republic never even spared this world the time of a blink either.

I sigh, "This is a recurring pattern. As in the past, as in the future, as in the present. Times of rebellion and revolution will always come."

"Father, why would the rebels fight like this though? Their tactics are terrible, nonexistent. Could they not have thought up a plan beyond attack all at once?", Vorn asked me.

He has watching the battle unfold form the holograms.

I chuckle, "The galaxy has been at relative peace for centuries, with no large wars. Pergitor has no regarded history of warfare either. They don't know how to wage war. They can only fight like barbarians. The hired mercenaries aiding and advising don't care about their lives either. They'll only help them conserve enough manpower to win in the end. Most would advise tactics of numbers. As while costly, it is effective.

The loyalists are not numerous, just well equipped. Also, less rebels in the end, means more spoils and pay for them. As there are yes people to support post-war. Even if that only means a few extra credits worth only a cheap bar drink."

Vorn goes back to looking at the holograms shaking his head.

Arla perks up, "Ah, I've detected a Mandalorian signal on the surface. True Mandalorian at that."

"Well my dear, I am surprised. This revolution is a good pay day. Where are they active?", I say.

Arla pinpoints there location quickly, "They are attacking the capital, Temple City. A great attack as well. Real tactics, military professionalism and skilled war fighting. As expected. This isn't my brother's band though. This is a 20-man group, led by Yuhn Zyla. Jango likes him, stoic, decisive, and capable."

I laugh, "The guy that doesn't talk much likes a guy that doesn't talk much. Of course."

The capital city is good as captured with True Mandalorians leading the charge. A subject of interest would be their church. As the planet is a theocracy aligned with a mining corpo. There isn't much information about the Church Infinite Perception floating around. I want to crack their secrets. As in this galaxy, it is common for a religion to have something to do with the Force. Even if it is in some small way.

"Everyone, I think I want to go down to the surface and find some people."
