As dusk approached, the sentry at the gate watched the outside of the camp with vigilance.
A shabby van with "Jetta Express" painted on it wobbled to a stop in the designated area outside the camp gate. The driver honked twice, poked his head out of the cab, and looked towards the sentry box.
A young sergeant, Inspector Rojas, was conducting a routine patrol near the gate with two soldiers.
Hearing the horn, he frowned. According to regulations, civilian vehicles like this were not allowed to get too close to the camp gate. He signaled his subordinates to stay alert, while he strode over.
At this moment, inside the camp, an officer with a lieutenant's insignia on his shoulder swayed unsteadily towards the gate.
"My package!"
Lieutenant Alvarez shouted to the delivery driver from a distance, ignored Sergeant Rojas at the gate, and walked straight to the delivery van to sign for a medium-sized cardboard box.
