The northern abnormal region of the Desert Peninsula is connected to the alkaline freshwater sea of Water God Star, almost bottomless, with no light visible around, except for the occasional sight of a few bioluminescent plankton.
The sovereign of the Desert Peninsula, always in short supply of freshwater, cares little about whether it's alkaline or not. As long as it's freshwater, they'll pump it vigorously from the abnormal region, continuously transporting it to the depths of the desert, creating a sizable inland lake in a short time.
However, the lake water remains weakly alkaline, as is the desert itself, so there's no worry about any bizarre chemical reactions occurring.
Yet, when the water flowed out in large volumes, it brought along some strange things.
Originally thought to be at the oceanic stage of initial life on Water God Star, a sudden emergence of a string of giant "balloons" from the deep sea overturned previous assumptions.
