Grand Line – Paradise
At sea, near Alabasta
Coming out of the kitchen to the deck, "Hey, Usopp! I'm thinking of preparing some seafood for today's lunch! Can you catch some fresh fishes for me while Nojiko and I get things ready in the kitchen?", Sanji asks while drying his hands with a dish towel.
"We're out of bait, man! Did you forget how much fish we caught at the party a few days ago?", turning to the cook, Usopp says, reminding him that they had no bait left.
"Fuck, that's true! Never mind then, we'll make do with what we have!", Sanji says, remembering how much bait they used during the party, of course there was nothing left.
"Hold on! I'll figure something out, I think I can improvise some bait!", just as the cook turns to go back to the kitchen, Usopp stops him, taking on the task.
"You sure you can?", Sanji asks doubtfully.
"Yes, relax! I'll get your fishes... I mean, I'm gonna try!", Usopp reassures him, murmuring uncertainly while scratching his face at the end.
"Alright, let me know when you catch something!", Sanji says with a smile before turning and heading back inside the ship.
'What the hell am I going to use as bait?', Usopp wonders, scratching his head without any ideas.
At that moment, Luffy comes out to the deck accompanied by Chopper while saying, "I'm telling you, I heard some weird noises last night, I think they were coming from the medical wing!"
"Are you sure? I sleep there and didn't hear anything", Chopper asks tensely, sweating buckets.
"Yes, I think it's ghosts! Or Merry jocking around the ship!", Luffy speculates, the ship rocking a bit roughly when he suggests that Merry might be behind the noises, as if protesting in his own defense.
"He... he he! It's probably nothing, you probably just dreamed about it!", Chopper laughs awkwardly, wanting Luffy to drop the subject and forget about it.
"Hey, Luffy, Chopper! Can you guys help me fish?", calling out to them, Usopp asks for their help. Three heads are better than one, right?
"Why do you need help? Did you forget how to fish?", Luffy asks, raising an eyebrow in doubt.
"No, idiot! I need help because we're out of bait. Do you guys have any idea how to resolve that?", Usopp asks, explaining why he needs help.
"Hmmm... what if we use Chopper as bait?", after a few minutes of thinking, Luffy comes up with an idea.
"Hey, leave me out of this! Use Chouchou as bait instead of me, he'd be up for it!", Chopper complains indignantly, quickly 'sacrificing' Chouchou in his place.
"Good idea, I'll call him!", Luffy exclaims with a smile before then turning around and going to get Chouchou.
While they waited for Luffy to return, Usopp comments uncertainly, "I don't think Chouchou's going to agree to be bait!"
"I think he'll agree! Chouchou agrees to anything", Chopper says, remembering how easy it was to convince Chouchou to join his secret club the night before.
Meanwhile, Luffy quickly finds Chouchou, calling his attention before asking and then explaining why they needed his help. "Hey, Chouchou! Would you be down to be our bait for fishing? We're out of bait!"
"Woo... woof woof, woof woof woof woof!" "Hmm... I'd even be up for it, but I have a better idea!", after thinking for a few seconds, Chouchou responds with a mischievous smile on his face, a better idea forming in his mind.
=Scene Break=
Usopp and Chopper didn't have to wait long. A few minutes later, Luffy returns carrying Karoo under his arms, apparently against the duck's will, with Chouchou walking beside him.
"Quack quack Quack!!! Quack, quack quack quack quack quack quack quack quack!!!" "Let me go, Luffy!!! Chouchou, I swear if I get used as bait, I'm gonna poop on your face the first chance I get!!!", Karoo screams desperately, struggling in Luffy's arms and vowing revenge on Chouchou, the one who came up with the idea, in the future.
"Looks like we have our bait!", Usopp comments with raised eyebrows, a playful smile appearing on his face.
"Woohohohoho! Woof Woof, woof woof woof!" "Woohohohoho! Relax, Karoo, this is gonna be fun!", trotting alongside Karoo while laughing loudly like Muttley from 'Wacky Races', Chouchou comments playfully, not caring one bit about the oversized duck's promises of revenge.
"Quack quack quack quack! Quack Quack!!! Quack quack quack!" "Fun is my corkscrew dick! Let me go, Luffy!!! I don't wanna be a bait!", Karoo yells angrily, struggling even more in Luffy's arms. At this point, probably everyone on board had heard the commotion.
"Shishishishi! Relax, we're just gonna catch a few fish, it'll be quick!", Luffy says with a smile, approaching Usopp, who was waiting with the fishing lines to tie up Karoo.
"Quack quack, quack quack! Quack quack quack quack quack!" "Quick is my fucking cock, I know you guys! You're not gonna stop until you've got a mountain of fish!", being placed on the ground, Karoo struggles even more vigorously, which still results in nothing, since Luffy was firmly holding him.
And then, while Luffy holds Karoo for Usopp to tie him up, with Chopper helping, Vivi and the rest of the crew come out onto the deck to see what was going on, drawn by the duck's desperate screaming. Only Sabo didn't come out to see what was happening.
"What are you doing? Let go of Karoo! BAMMM!!!!", as soon as she sees Karoo being tied up, Vivi doesn't wait for any explanation before going over to them and landing a punch on the head of each one involved.
"Ouch, Vivi! We were just gonna use him as bait!", Luffy explains while rubbing his head where he got hit.
"Wo! Woof woof woof!" "Ouch! I didn't even do anything!", Chouchou complains, holding his head with both front paws.
"Don't even start! I saw you laughing and having fun while they were tying up Karoo", even without understanding what Chouchou said, Vivi knew he was probably making lame excuses.
At that moment, taking advantage of the four rubbing their heads where Vivi had struck them, Karoo uses his new strength, developed thanks to the training he had been doing, to snap the fishing lines holding him, freeing himself.
"Now what? What do we do?", Chopper asks, still rubbing the spot where he got hit.
"I don't know, just don't use someone as bait against their will!", Vivi says, scolding them.
"I'll do it, tie the lines on me, Usopp!", Luffy suddenly says, since nobody else wanted to be bait, he would do it.
"Woof woof woof, woof woof woof woof woof woof..." "I was going to volunteer, but since you were faster...", Chouchou barks. He doesn't have a problem volunteering himself to the work, but since Luffy was quicker, he wasn't going to complain about it either.
"No, it's better if I go! You're used to seawater, but I'm even more", Luffy says as Usopp finishes tying the fishing lines around his waist.
"Hmm? Hey, Nami! Fog!", since things had already been sorted out, Vivi, casually looking out at the horizon, notices there's a thick fog ahead.
"Relax, I saw it already! There's no problem at all, it's just underwater volcanoes!", Nami reassures her, having seen the fog a while ago already.
"Underwater volcanoes?", Kaya asks curiously.
"That's right! Believe it or not, there are infinitely more underwater volcanoes than on land. This steam fog means there are active volcanoes in this area, creating a tension zone!", Nami explains with a smile.
"Tension area? What does that mean?", Nojiko, next to Sanji, asks while drying her hands with the dish towel over her boyfriend's shoulder.
"Basically, the volcanoes below, because they're active, are expelling magma, which causes this fog, 'a tension area'! If this keeps up, in about ten thousand years, a new island will be born right here!", Nami explains as the Merry enters the fog.
"Cool!", Kaya exclaims, impressed.
Meanwhile, "Alright, Usopp, Chopper! Let's do this!", tied up and hanging for two fishing rods held by Chopper and Usopp, Luffy gives them a thumbs-up, signaling he's ready to be the bait.
"This sulfur smell is really strong!", Chopper complains as he and Usopp throw Luffy far away.
"Woof woof!" "Don't even mention this!", Chouchou complains, also bothered by the strong smell.
"Isn't it dangerous if we keep breathing in these vapors?", Usopp asks with a nasally voice, covering his nose in fear of dying.
"We just have to avoid breathing these vapors for too long! Other than that, everything's fine, it's just the smell that's really strong and bothers those with a sensitive nose!", Chopper responds, covering his nose as best he can with one of his hooves.
Hearing Usopp's concerns, Chopper's complaints, and knowing Chouchou probably said something similar to what the little doctor reindeer said, Nami then says, "Relax, we'll be out of the fog soon!"
At the same time, Luffy spots a school of strangely-shaped fish using his Observation while flying far away without being able to see anything due to the dense fog. Adjusting his trajectory, he crashes into the entire school and quickly grabs one of the fish, finding it a bit strange that he ended up landing on a solid, flat surface instead of the seawater.
Having gotten what he wanted and deciding not to think too much about the strangeness of the situation, Luffy tugs one of the fishing lines tied to him a few times, signaling Usopp and Chopper to pull him back.
He then feels the lines pulling him back forcefully the next moment, making him crash into some solid obstacles, which definitely broke, before then falling into the sea with the strangely-shaped fish he had captured.
"Blublublublublublublublublub blublublublub!!!!", while being pulled back, Luffy hears the fish making some strange sounds.
'Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something?', Luffy thinks, unconcerned about the noises coming from the fish.
Shortly after, Luffy and the 'fish' are hoisted up, coming face to face with Chopper and Usopp, the Merry just coming out of the fog.
"!!!" "!!!", Chopper and Usopp stare open-mouthed and in disbelief at what Luffy 'fished'.
"Why are you guys making that weird face?", Luffy asks in confusion before looking down and getting startled upon realizing that the strangely-shaped fish he had caught was actually a gay man.
"""We fished a gay!!!!""", the three Straw Hats shout after a few seconds of staring at Bon Clay, who stares them back expressionlessly, upside down and completely soaked, being held by the legs by Luffy, who ends up dropping him without wanting to.
"... Nooooo! Not againnn! How did I end up hereeeee?", spitting out a bunch of water, Bon Clay yells as he realizes he's falling toward the sea once again.
Feeling a little bad for having 'kidnapped' this gay uncle against his will, Luffy then unties the fishing lines that were holding him and saves Bon Clay from falling into the sea again, bringing him onto the Merry.
=Scene Break=
On the deck of the Merry, "Really sorry, Gay Uncle! I kidnapped you by accident!", Luffy apologizes to Bon Clay, who's sitting on the floor in Seiza position.
"First of all, I'm not gay! I'm a fabulous Okama! And secondly, it's all right, it was an accident like you said! And you even saved me from drowning again, which already shows you're amazing people! I would've died otherwise!", Bon Clay corrects them before then thanking them for not letting him fall into the sea again.
"Isn't that the same thing?", Luffy asks, whispering to Usopp beside him, referring to the fact that the word Okama is just another way of saying someone was gay.
"I didn't get it, why would you have died if we hadn't saved you?", Kaya asks curiously, though already suspecting it had to do with a Devil Fruit.
"Well, it's just that the little ol' me, the most glamorous Okama on these seas! Ate a Devil Fruit!", Bon Clay exclaims flamboyantly without even looking at Kaya, already completely recovered from the shock of almost drowning twice.
"Alright, I'm gonna go make ice cream for everyone!", no longer interested, Sanji decides to make ice cream, since apparently it was going to take forever for them to catch anything that wasn't a gay man.
"I love ice cream! Make some for me too, hottie!", Bon Clay exclaims when he hears Sanji.
"I'm going to have to take a caustic soda bath later!", Sanji murmurs disgustedly as he heads back to the kitchen.
"Ohhh! Look at all these beauties we have here!", Bon Clay exclaims upon noticing the presence of Nami, Nojiko, Kaya, and Vivi, winking at them.
"Ugh!", Vivi looks at Bon Clay with a look of disgust while thinking, 'Now that's what I call weird, does he swing both ways?'
"Hey, Uncle Peacock! What Akuma no Mi did you eat?", Luffy asks curiously, knowing for sure that he should remember this gay uncle, but also not making the slightest effort to search his memories, after all, if it were something critical, he wouldn't even have to try to remember.
[Explaining how the memories from another world of Luffy work: if it's not something critical like Ace's death or information about the future canon crew members, the information usually remains stored and only gets accessed when Luffy actively tries to retrieve it. In situations where he doesn't, he just gets a feeling of 'I feel like I'm forgetting something'. If he still doesn't try to access it, he only remembers when it becomes 'too obvious to not remember' so to speak.]
"Well, we've got a bit of time until my ship finds us, so how about a little show? Pay close attention, this is my power!!!", Bon Clay stands up as he speaks excitedly, only to, in the next instant, smack Luffy across the face with all his strength.
And despite the great force behind the slap, Luffy doesn't move even an inch, finally remembering who this Uncle Peacock was, 'I remember now!!! How could I forget him?'
And while everyone raises an eyebrow, alert, hands on their weapons, Bon Clay exclaims with his hand hurting, "Wooow, you're really strong, huh? My hand are even sore", looking like an exact copy of Luffy, body, voice, the only thing different was his clothes.
'Should I stop him from touching everyone's face?... You know what, fuck it!', Luffy thinks for a few seconds and comes to the conclusion that it doesn't matter whether Bon Clay will copies the crew's faces or not, the result will be the same. Besides, he wants to be friends with him.
"He looks identical to Luffy!", Chopper exclaims in surprise.
"Pftt! You should wear an outfit like that someday, Luffy!", Usopp says, trying to hold back his laughter.
"Shut up, Usopp!", Nami scolds him, knowing Luffy might actually take this idiot seriously.
"Even the voice is the same!", Vivi exclaims, impressed.
"Gaaahaahahaha! Surprised? This queen here ate the Mane Mane no Mi! I can transform into anyone I touch with my right hand, everything identical, voice, even the body and tattoos", laughing loudly, still transformed as Luffy, Bon Clay explains how his Devil Fruit works, touching Nojiko's face at the end to demonstrate how he copies even the person's body along with the tattoos, opening his shirt to show her ample breasts with her tattoos.
Acting quickly, Nami steps in front of him to stop the others from seeing what is basically her naked sister, and no more than a few seconds later, Nojiko punches Bon Clay hard in the head, slamming his face into the ground.
"Idiot, who gave you permission to do that?", Nojiko complains, her fist steaming.
"Ouchhhh! Your hand is really heavy, huh?", Bon Clay complains, rubbing the giant lump on his head.
"You okay, Peacock Uncle?", Luffy crouches beside Bon Clay and asks.
"Ahem, that was just a taste of my powers! Unfortunately, that's all for today", Bon Clay says with a sigh as he gets up.
"Just when it was getting cool!", Chopper complains sadly.
"Do more, Peacock Uncle!", Luffy asks with no ulterior motives, just wanting to see more transformations.
"Yeah, do more!", Usopp joins his friends, wanting to see more transformations.
"Woof woof!" "Yeah!", Chouchou exclaims, wanting to see more too.
"Quack quack quack quack quack quack quack?" "I wonder if he can turn into a duck like me?", Karoo asks curiously.
"Very well thennnn! Since you guys insist!", completely won over by the Straw Hats' excitement, Bon Clay exclaims while spinning on the tip of his toe like a ballerina.
"He changed his mind really fast", Zoro murmurs, raising an eyebrow slightly as he sits in a corner of the deck.
"Here, do me!", Usopp asks excitedly.
"Of course!", Bon Clay says, touching Usopp's face and transforming into him.
"Can you transform into animals too?", Chopper asks, only to have his face touched, with Bon Clay transforming into an exact copy of his hybrid form, his clothes adjusting to the size of his new body.
"Woof woof!" "Me too!", Chouchou asks enthusiastically.
Even without understanding what the little white dog said, Bon Clay touches his face and transforms into an exact copy of Chouchou, just in clothes.
"Quack! Quack quack!" "Wow! Me too!", Karoo asks as well, caught up in his friends' excitement.
And once again, Bon Clay touches the duck's face even without knowing what he said and transforms into an exact copy of Karoo.
"Do more!", Luffy exclaims, excited.
"Don't even think about it!", as soon as the walking peacock turns his gaze toward him, Zoro growls, threatening to cut him if he came closer.
"Do more!", Usopp exclaims with Luffy.
"Don't look at me! I'm not letting you touch my face!", Nami says when she sees this weirdo turning his gaze toward her.
"Do more!", Chopper joins the two.
"Don't look at her either!", Nami says when she sees him turning toward Kaya next, shielding her friend.
"Let me just say in advance, don't look at me either!", seeing she'd be next, Vivi jumps ahead and refuses whatever it was that the Okama wanted to do with her.
"Well, no problem! Because this queen here has a perfect memory, which means I can transform into everyone I've ever touched in my life", seeing that no one else wanted to join the fun and that Luffy and the other four were still asking him to keep transforming, Bon Clay says, bragging.
"QUACKKKK!!!" "WOOFFFF!!!" """""YEAHHHH!!!""""", the five cheer excitedly.
"I... have never... forgotten... a single... face... in my... life!", striking poses worthy of a Jojo character with each word spoken; Bon Clay also changes faces as he did it.
"What?", Vivi exclaims in surprise upon recognizing one of the faces that Bon Clay used.
"Ridiculous!", Zoro grumbles in annoyance, the noise preventing him from sleeping.
"Did you like my super special performance? I usually don't do this kind of thing to people I've just met! But you guys are special, we're friends", Bon Clay says while spinning on one foot like a ballerina.
"You're amazing, Peacock Uncle!!", Luffy exclaims, clapping for him.
"That's right, Mr. Okama!", Chopper exclaims with his little arms raised.
And while the five Straw Hats danced together with Bon Clay as if they were longtime friends, Nami looks toward the horizon and asks, "Is that your ship?"
"Oh, that's mine! Well, looks like it's time to go!", jumping onto the side railing of the Merry, Bon Clay says sadly upon seeing Swanda approaching, with his back to the Straw Hats; some parts of his ship being broken, probably because of Luffy when he accidentally 'kidnapped' him.
"No! Stay, there's going to be ice cream!", Usopp says sadly, not wanting Bon Clay to leave.
"Stay, join my crew!", Luffy exclaims, inviting him to the crew.
"Don't go!", Chopper exclaims, tearing up.
"Woof woof woof woof woof?" "Aren't you staying even for ice cream?", Chouchou asks sadly.
"Quack quack quack!" "Guests don't turn down ice cream!", Karoo exclaims indignantly. Was he really going to refuse ice cream?
"Well, as much as I love ice cream, I won't be able to stay and have some, and I'll have to turn down the invitation! But don't be sad, my darlings! Distance and time mean nothing to true friendship!", Bon Clay says, turning around and giving a thumbs-up to the five Straw Hats, with tears welling up in the corners of his eyes.
"We'll meet again!", Usopp shouts in tears as Bon Clay jumps back to his ship.
As Bon Clay's ship sails away, he glances one last look at the ship of his new friends before turning his gaze forward and saying, "Let's go, my darlings!"
"Yes, sir! Mr. 2! Bon Clay, sir!", his crew shouts in affirmation, drawing the attention of the Straw Hats, who could still hear them, leaving them shocked at the revelation that Bon Clay is Mr. 2, an enemy, except for Luffy, who already knew that.
