Chapter 23 - Flashback 2

It is Monday, and the filming of 'Mashed Potatoes' is taking off. Meesha has a lot to do. She's not only monitoring the script but also helping Mrs. Mild with her other two projects still in writing.

Meesha reaches the filming spot only to find it's her own restaurant. She was so occupied that she didn't even pay attention to the filming location.

The restaurant, although similar, has had the name and the overall ambience changed as the drama requires.

The very first scene marking the beginning is actually one of the most important scenes of the drama. The male lead is defeated by his opponent with his simple yet outstanding dish, 'mashed potatoes'.

Meesha has the script in her hands, and her eyes are fixed on the dialogues one has to deliver in the scenes. Mrs. Mild has given her clear instructions that no one should make a slight change in the dialogues. The director seems pissed because she's not letting anyone improvise, not even the slightest.

A crew member approaches the director in a hurry and whispers something in his ear.

Meesha jumps in curiosity, "What's happening?"

"Guest appearance," someone on the set replies.

She goes through the script and notices that there is a scene where judges appear. She knew someone big would be making a guest appearance, but who?

Meesha sees the director coming back inside holding onto a young, dashing guy. Her eyes widen as she scans the guy from head to toe.

"OMG!! "It's Tim, and nobody gave me a hint," Meesha whispers to herself, hiding her face behind the script.

She sneakily looks at Tim. She was admiring the heavenly beauty of her idol when Mrs. Mild interrupted her.

Mrs. Mild is the reason Tim came a long way in the industry. It happened almost 9 years ago when Tim, not really struggling but far from success, caught Mrs. Mild's eye.

After his success, he never missed a chance to work with her, even if it meant being in a role as minor as a guest.

Justin sees Tim staring at Meesha longer than he ever did in history.

He clears his throat. "What are you looking at?

Tim holds his cell phone in front of Justin. One moment Justin is peeping at the screen and the next at Meesha. Tim asks him to stop oscillating, or he might break his neck.

Tim and Justin are in shock because it was Meesha who texted at midnight to wish him a happy birthday. Tim just figured out that she looked familiar and checked his chat. Her profile picture helped him to confirm she's the one.

"How did she know your account?" Justin murmurs.

"That's what I wanted to ask you." Tim glares at Justin to see if he slipped his personal account to others unintentionally.

"Stop looking at me like that; I swear it wasn't me this time," Justin assures Tim, covering his scary eyes.

Meesha, standing in the corner, gets chills. She senses that someone's watching her, but before she can think of anything, Justin asks her to come over.

Meesha, pursing her lips, sways over, stealing glances at Time. Without wasting a second, Justin asks her if she ever texted Time on his personal account.

"No, never," Meesha blurts out in an instant without giving it a second thought.

She turns around, and the memory of her texting Tim on his birthday rewinds like an old cassette in her mind. She brings out her cell phone quickly.

Meesha is flabbergasted to realize that she got a reply from Tim and was living under a rock until now.

She puts her cell phone forward. "Is this what you're talking about?"

She didn't wait for them to confirm it's precisely what they're talking about; the look on their faces was evident enough.

"I won't ever text you again. I'm sorry; I didn't know it was your account."

"I won't tell anybody else. "Please, I'm not any creep," Meesha, bowing 90 degrees, mumbled in a taut and gruff voice.

Tim and Justin were in utter confusion. They saw people staring at them and knew it's better to make it short.

"O-okay, apology accepted." Justin gestures for her to go away.

The sound of whispers became louder; Meesha finds herself stuck in a weird situation. She stands up straight and dashes outside, escaping from all the embarrassment.
