The two ascended midgets figured out their bodies more or less about five hours later. They left my house on wobbly legs but at least they got the rough hang of it. The one with wings could barely fly and was more prone to crashing than staying airborne. It was amusing the first few times but got old fast. I shooed them off with the Doormaker/TM since my part was done for now. Time passed like water through a sieve after that and frankly I was getting bored of just relaxing. -
I had already created a dozen new prototype weapons for when it was time to devour Atlas and signal in the reign of Drake just to pass the time. I hadn't heard anything back from the "Angel" since our last conversation but I had noticed Hyperion personnel moving onto the planet at certain locations. It was basic infrastructure for now but I knew this was only the set up for the mining operations. My friends were off doing bounties that never stopped coming in now that Atlas was all but gone from the planet with the remaining lance forces being scattered and abandoned by the company.-
Ladon was more than happy to be free of my house to go hunt as we set up shop almost permanently outside Fyrestone. The big flying reptile had reached his full size and was like a large horse with wings to carry him. Large certainly but not TOO large. New Haven was a changed place as well during this time as there were so many bots and refiners set up and working that at least a mile of trash got cleared DAILY. Turns out without that trash the towns surroundings defaulted to dirt based desert with the occasional bit of green somehow showing up now that there is room for it.-
I even ended up having to move the first dozen or so refiners to the outer edge of the new ones range as the bots were taking too long to bring trash from that distance back. Not that I minded at all as the sheer difference in air quality was staggering in New Haven. Not only was the air several times cleaner which was it's own type of quality but there was an honest to gods breeze passing through the town now.-
All that trash had been choking the airflow this whole time and without it the wind was near constantly flowing by there. Admittedly all the loose fine sand and dirt left in the place of those trash piles meant there was an almost constant dust storm in the area but really it was not that bad with the shield stopping it. I did end up swapping the initial high quality shield I put over the town with a shittier one like I said I would but by this point no one even noticed the change.-
The trash had simply gotten too far away. No creatures could get anywhere near it without getting seen. Not that there were many creatures left to begin with. Turns out the fauna of Pandora weren't totally fucking retarded and do in fact get the message when extinction or eviction is their choices. All the critters that lived in the trash left for greener pastures as the steady march of correction overtook the land. They tried to fight back at first but my combat bots killed them with such ease no amount of numbers accomplished anything beyond giving my worker bots more materials to transport.-
That was a slight miscalculation on my part to be fair as I hadn't expected the scanning protocols I set up to designate corpses as just more materials in need of refinement. They didn't even give anything all that special either. Just Carbon, calcium, sodium, iron, sulfur and phosphorous. Fun fact about the refiners eating corpses is that to bandits it was as if they refiners were alive and devoured the dead to fuel their ever increasing number. Almost complete nonsense but really what could you expect from bandits besides just that? -
There was one thing I suppose worth noting during this time in the form of one ridiculously improbable Crabworm. Crawmerax the invincible was said bugs name and I legitimately could have sworn it was a vault monster. The thing was nearly twenty meters long and had two massive claws the size of buses. It spat acid and was almost entirely immune to firearms save four glowing purple "weak spots". Despite the person who set up that bounty(pretty sure they were baiting us) being fairly certain the thing would kill us we killed it without much trouble at all. Turns out destroying all four spots causes the big bastard to flat out die, sucks to be it I guess.-
The thing had an hefty 59,182 units of lifeforce and exactly three traits that I grabbed [Supreme body-Legendary grade], [Invincible-Mythical grade] and [Impenetrable hide-Legendary grade] while the rest were normal Crab worm traits. The first and third of those three traits had obvious uses but the second one surprised me. [Invincible] wasn't a mere title added on to a name but a classification unique to individuals that evolved in a way beyond their races normal path. It wasn't a straightforward trait like the body traits but was more a sort of evolutionary marker of uniqueness.-
I considered keeping the trait for myself but in the end chose to give it to Ladon instead. It didn't cause many changes in his body to receive it but his fire breath changed to a blue color so that was something I suppose. [Supreme body] went to Maya after some serious coaxing while [Impenetrable hide] absorbed the two stacks of [Supreme armored hide] and caused my bodies defensive properties to reach unreasonable levels. I could without a shield take a sniper round to my bare skin with at most a slight white mark left behind.-
Maya's transformation wasn't at all what I was expecting though as I assumed she'd turn almost amazonian(which I would totally be okay with) but no. She grew a bit taller at six and a half feet but her proportions were perfect, LITERALLY. Her body was perfectly sculpted with all the right curves that never went overboard. Her boobs while quite large were perky and not disproportional to her body. And her scent drove me nuts at this point like all of my instincts screaming at me to take her already, it was quite annoying to be honest.-
It was almost funny how quite a few people started worshiping her as a goddess after her transformation. She obviously didn't agree but I thought it great since it brought out an anxious and almost shy side of her. I suppose I also developed quite the following after some jackass took a photo of me without me realizing it and posted it on the echonet. There was a lot of heat about the image being fake at first until several photo authenticators verified it as undoctored. If Maya was a goddess of beauty in peoples eyes I was one of power as my form and wings gave an oppressive feeling even through a photo.
