This reminded Song Xiaodong of a novel by Master Huang Yi, which had two female leads. The book was called "Tale of the Twin Dragons of the Tang Dynasty," and one of the female leads was named Wanwan, while the other was Shi Feixian.
Qingluan seemed like Wanwan from the story, and this Chu Xianling matched with Shi Feixian.
At least in terms of temperament, they really were quite similar.
