In the hospital, Xiao Linye sat beside Ye Yuning's bed, drinking one glass of water after another. Ye Yuning turned her head towards the window. Neither of them broke the silence, simply sitting quietly.
After an unknown amount of time, Xiao Linye finally spoke. "At nine o'clock tonight, we're heading back to Upper City!"
His voice was soft, yet it carried an undeniable firmness.
Ye Yuning's eyelids twitched coldly. She didn't answer, instead asking, "My brother... who is he?"
A brother... What kind of existence was that? She had never believed she had any blood relatives in this world. Ever since she could remember, her world had been a mess. People came and went; many entered her world, and many left. But no one had ever truly stayed, or remained permanently.
