Chapter 6 - A Dangerous Lesson

This is such a great escalation of the plot! Having Kazu's first real combat encounter happen right in the middle of a simple magic lesson perfectly showcases how dangerous this new world is. The way he used a simple glass bottle combined with his Dash and Fire Pierce skills at point-blank range is incredibly creative, and it makes the sudden appearance of the "Assassin" and "Bloodthirst" skills make perfect sense.

To keep this perfectly connected to the previous chapter, I have kept the entire scene in First-Person POV ("I/Me"). Since Kazu can't read Rosalia's mind, I had him overhear her panicked muttering instead—which actually makes the scene even funnier and grounds it in his perspective!

I also expanded slightly on the action sequence to make the werewolf fight feel fast and brutal, boosting your word count while fixing the grammatical errors.

Here is the polished, fully formatted chapter:

Rosalia stared at me, her chest heaving rapidly as she tried to keep her voice steady. Even over the crackling heat radiating from the scorched earth, I could faintly hear her muttering under her breath, a look of sheer panic in her eyes. "Oh God, what kind of child have I adopted? He is just too powerful..."

"Kazu," she said softly, her eyes searching mine, "did you see what kind of spell you just cast?"

I looked up at her with a sheepish grin, rubbing the back of my neck. "Uhmm... no, I didn't," I admitted. "I had my eyes closed, hehe... I can't really focus my mana unless I keep them shut."

Rosalia sighed, her brow furrowing with deep concern. "A-ahh... I see. Alright, dear... But you should know, the spell you cast was quite dangerous." She bit her lip, and I could hear her whisper to herself, "This is terrifying..."

"Maybe it's better if I teach you some healing magic first," she suggested quickly.

My eyes sparkled with determination. "I'll do my best next time, I promise! And I'll keep my eyes open when I cast a spell, I swear it, Rosalia! Hehee."

Rosalia forced a smile, clearly trying to suppress her growing unease. "Oh dear God," I heard her murmur faintly, "he might wipe out the entire country because of me." She cleared her throat. "A-ah, that's... that's great, sweetie. Maybe it's best if you keep your eyes open from now on. But for now, let's strictly stick to healing magic, okay? First, we need to find something sharp to use for practice."

My face brightened with enthusiasm. "AHHH! I'll find something we can use!" I dashed off, eager to help.

I hummed a little tune as I scoured the edge of the training area. Hmm... maybe this sharp stone will do... Oh, what about this broken bottle? This will work... but why do we need to injure ourselves in the first place?

Returning with the jagged glass bottle in hand, I proudly held it up. "Rosalia! I found this bottle over there. We can use it to make a cut."

Rosalia nodded, trying to mask her lingering apprehension. "Yes, that's perfect. First, I'll demonstrate by cutting myself and then healing the wound with my magic. Like this..."

She took a deep breath, her voice steady and calm as she began the incantation. "Mighty God, bless this wound and give the strength needed to survive... HEALING!"

She winced as she made a small cut on her arm with the glass edge, but then smiled as a soft light enveloped the skin, closing the wound up seamlessly. "See? Just like that, sweetie. Hehe, the wound is all gone!"

My eyes widened with amazement. "Wow... it really worked, Rosalia! There's no scar or anything!"

Rosalia handed me the bottle. "Now it's your turn. But remember, when you cast the incantation, avoid asking for help from a God. Instead, think of yourself as the God who grants the wish, okay?"

I nodded, my expression turning serious. "O-okay, Rosalia..."

Just as I was about to press the glass to my skin, a sudden, chilling system notification flashed across my vision.

[Warning: Killing Intent Detected]

My face shifted in alarm. "Rosalia! There's a monster!"

A towering werewolf emerged from the shadows of the nearby treeline, its fur matted and its glowing yellow eyes gleaming with feral hunger. Drool dripped from its massive jaws. "I'M STARVING! I NEED FOOD! I'LL EAT YOU BOTH!"

Rosalia's face drained of color as she looked at the menacing creature. She stepped in front of me, her voice trembling. "My child... run... save yourself..."

But I couldn't leave her. I stepped forward, my voice unwavering despite the fear hammering in my chest. "Let go of Rosalia! FIRE PIERCE!"

I hurled a blast of fire, but the werewolf's eyes widened in surprise and it easily batted the flames away.

"A human child using Fire Pierce?!" it sneered, its voice like grinding gravel. "YOU'LL BE THE FIRST TO DIE!"

Before I could blink, the beast lunged. It grabbed Rosalia by her shoulders and hurled her violently across the ground. She hit the earth with a sickening thud and lay completely still.

"R-Rosalia!" I screamed, my heart racing. I dashed to her side, sliding to my knees. "Rosalia, are you okay? Rosalia..." I turned back to the beast, an unfamiliar, burning rage taking over my senses. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?! I won't forgive you!!! FIRE PIERCE!"

I fired again, but the werewolf dodged the attack with a mocking, guttural laugh. "You won't hit me, child! Hihihihahhaa!!! NOW YOU DIE!"

It charged at me, its claws fully extended.

My anger and desperation surged. I glanced at the jagged bottle still clutched tightly in my hand. My resolve hardened into ice.

Dash... I thought. I'll end this with this. A dark grin involuntarily spread across my face. Dash... Blink!

My movements became a blur. I executed the skill flawlessly, teleporting right past the werewolf's swinging claws. In one swift, brutal motion, I drove the jagged glass bottle directly into the werewolf's head. As the glass sank deep, I channeled all my remaining focus into my hand.

"FIRE PIERCE!"

The werewolf didn't even have time to howl. The point-blank spell tore through it from the inside out, dropping the massive beast to the ground instantly.

A flurry of translucent screens flooded my vision:

[Notification: Enemy Defeated] [New Skill Acquired: Bloodthirst] [New Unique Skill Discovered: Assassin] [Assassin skill reached Level 12. Do you want to enhance it now? Yes/No]

Yes. I dismissed the screens, breathing heavily. I immediately turned back to Rosalia, who was still lying unconscious in the dirt.

"Rosalia... I need to heal you... I need to..." My hands were shaking as I placed them gently on her forehead. I recalled her instructions. I am the God who grants the wish...

I closed my eyes, focusing every ounce of my infinite mana. "I am the God who grants this wish. Bless the individual who lays in my hands... HEALING!"

A warm, radiant light poured from my palms. After a agonizing moment, Rosalia stirred. Her eyes fluttered open as she let out a pained groan. "Erghh... Huff... My child... what happened?"

My tears spilled over, absolute relief flooding my chest. "Everything's okay now, Rosalia! Are you feeling alright?"

Rosalia touched her head, her fingers coming away slightly stained with dried blood from her fall. "I-I'm okay now, sweetie... but why... why is there blood on my head...?"

She shook her head, trying to clear her confusion as she sat up. She looked at the smoldering remains of the werewolf, then back at me. "L-let's go home now, sweetie... But... did you learn how to heal?"

I nodded vigorously, my tears still flowing. "Yes, Rosalia! I'll tell you everything that happened when we get back... You passed out earlier... I-I thought... I thought I was going to lose you, too..." I sobbed, throwing my arms around her and clutching her tightly.

Rosalia wrapped her arms around me, her own tears threatening to fall. "A-ah... I'm alright now, sweetie. I'm so sorry I worried you. Let's go home."

I wiped my tears away and nodded, helping her to her feet. As we started the long walk back to the city, my mind was still reeling from the day's events.

New skill acquired... Bloodthirst... new unique skill? Assassin?? I'm so confused... maybe I'll check my status screen later when I'm alone.

Rosalia noticed my deep contemplation and smiled softly, though she still looked exhausted. "You're thinking deeply, sweetie. You must be hungry after all that magic. I'll cook you something delicious when we get home, okay?"

I managed a small, genuine smile, feeling profoundly comforted by her warmth. "Okay, Rosalia. Thank you."

As we walked home together, I felt a heavy mixture of relief and confusion. I knew I had much to learn about this world and these strange system windows governing my life. But for now, I was just grateful for Rosalia's presence and the safety of our home.
