Growing up, when you remember the things you did as a child, it often feels embarrassing and hard to accept.
At times like this, you wish you could travel back in time and beat up your past self.
The difference between us and Obito in this story is that Obito can actually fight his "past" self, and not only did he fight him, he killed him.
"Teacher, I hope next time I come back, you will have prepared all the body tissues I need."
Minato naturally knew what this list was.
He looked at the thick list in his hands and accepted the death of Fourth Hokage's Obito.
Just like Third Hokage's Obito thought, under the circumstances where the big picture was already decided, Minato did not want to kill Obito.
Call it stubbornness, or call it compassion.
For Obito, his student, he still wanted to save him very much.
But Third Hokage's Obito did not give Fourth Hokage's Obito that chance.
Want to save him?
Sure, wait until this Konoha in this timeline develops well, bring Orochimaru back to learn the resurrection technique, and then come to save him — it's not too late.
Third Hokage's Obito was the one involved; he knew very well that without Rin Yamanaka, the only way to save himself was under external pressure like in the Fifth Hokage's timeline, entangled by bonds with Kakashi, and after Naruto gave him a harsh talk.
Only then was it possible for him to turn back.
Other than that, there was no other way.
So, he decisively killed Fourth Hokage's Obito—not just to say goodbye and atone for the past, but mostly because he didn't want to cause trouble for Minato-sensei in this timeline.
After all, even he didn't know what insane things he would do later without triggering the Nine-Tails Incident.
"Don't worry, Obito, I will handle this matter."
After hearing Minato's definite answer, Third Hokage's Obito nodded and looked at Kakashi, who was crouching on the ground, sewing together the Fourth Hokage's Obito's head and body.
"There isn't much time left. I'm going to Rin's grave to quietly wait until the time is up. What about you?"
"Me?"
Putting down the needle and thread, Kakashi stood up, smiling broadly. "I want to go see myself in this timeline."
"…I'm afraid it's more than just seeing, right?"
Third Hokage's Obito glanced meaningfully at Kakashi. He could probably guess what this crazy guy was thinking.
"Of course. If I hadn't foolishly revealed Kushina-sama's delivery date back then, maybe the Nine-Tails Incident wouldn't have happened."
"Don't blame yourself. You saw it today— even if you didn't reveal the time to 'me,' by some coincidence, 'I' would have found out anyway."
"That's not the same."
Kakashi shook his head and continued, "You knowing is your business, me revealing it is mine."
Seeing Kakashi wouldn't listen, Third Hokage's Obito silently mourned for this timeline's Kakashi.
He definitely wouldn't die, but a serious beating was inevitable.
Just as Kakashi and Obito were about to leave, Minato suddenly said, "Kakashi, are your eyes okay?"
This timeline's Kakashi already had a deadly Sharingan, but the Kakashi in front of them had a pair of Mangekyō Sharingan. Wouldn't that be even more dangerous?
"No problem. Orochimaru in my timeline extracted some (weakened) Hashirama cells from Obito for me, so I can use the Sharingan normally for a short time without harming my body."
No wonder Hashirama's cells are the most OP thing in the Naruto world.
As soon as you inject them into your body, your waist stops hurting, your legs don't ache anymore.
Even Kakashi isn't really Kakashi anymore.
"You don't have Uchiha blood, so your Sharingan can't be turned off. Staying like this won't work."
"Don't worry, sensei. Once Orochimaru masters the Resurrection Jutsu, I'll switch to a body with Uchiha blood. That way, I can freely open and close my Sharingan."
"Resurrection Jutsu?"
"Yes."
Kakashi nodded, and Third Hokage's Obito interrupted, "The Resurrection Jutsu was developed by the Second Hokage of the Second Hokage's timeline. It perfectly revives the dead without any cost. Well, actually, there is a cost—it just costs more money. But compared to life, money is nothing; it's not really a cost at all."
"I see."
Scratching his head, Minato didn't ask further.
He felt that a Resurrection Jutsu with no real cost sounded a bit too absurd.
But just because he didn't ask didn't mean others wouldn't.
Sure enough, Kushina asked, "Will the Second Hokage teach us this Resurrection Jutsu?"
"It should be so. After all, the Second Hokage taught it in other timelines; there's no reason this timeline wouldn't."
Third Hokage's Obito didn't sound very sure about this.
Kakashi also stroked his chin and said thoughtfully, "Usually, the first time you travel through time, the Second Hokage prepares the scroll containing the Resurrection Jutsu and gives it to the new connected timeline. This time, we didn't get it, nor were we told to give it. Could it be because something in this timeline annoys him?"
"Huh?"
Third Hokage's Obito was surprised when Kakashi said that.
He first thought the Second Hokage wouldn't be such a shallow and petty person.
But then, thinking about how Jiraiya from that timeline was forcibly made Hokage, he didn't think that anymore.
"You mentioning this suddenly made me think of someone. I don't know if the Second Hokage hated him, but we really hated and even despised him. Kakashi, you know who I'm talking about, right?"
"Of course. Who could be more despised than Danzo?"
"Danzo?"
Minato and Kushina exchanged a glance.
They had already gone through the review videos from before the light screen in recent days, so they naturally knew what that guy Danzo would do.
But because of the Third Hokage here, they couldn't take harsh actions against Danzo and could only handle it softly.
Now that it involved the Second Hokage and the Resurrection Jutsu, it was necessary to have a proper talk with the Third Hokage.
Obito of the Fourth Hokage's timeline and the Nine-Tails incident were resolved.
Minato and Kushina returned to the delivery room and started playing with the newborn Naruto.
Third Hokage's Obito and Fifth Hokage's Kakashi each went to the places they wanted, as they said.
Third Hokage's Obito went to Rin Nohara's grave.
Fifth Hokage's Kakashi returned to his home in this timeline.
By his habit, this Kakashi was surely at home reading a book right now.
Then, this timeline's Kakashi suffered—he was hung up and whipped by Fifth Hokage's Kakashi.
While whipping, he angrily shouted, "Tell me, do you admit your mistake or not?"
Fourth Hokage's Kakashi was dumbfounded.
Truly, misfortune comes when you least expect it.
I was just peacefully reading my book when suddenly, out of nowhere, a super strong crazy person appeared.
In no time, they grabbed me and started beating me up, and then they even forced me to admit I was wrong.
Who in my family would understand this?
They want me to admit I'm wrong, but at least tell me where exactly I went wrong.
