Chapter 24 - Dormitory

We're finally moved to the dorms. Yay.

The thing about this show, you see, is that the grading itself doesn't really make a difference between what dorm you get. The rooms were determined by our numbers, where there are three people in each room.

Right now, there are a total of 12 participants with no grade and in grade one, 29 in grade two, and the rest are in grade three.

If you knew how to do math properly, you'd know that means someone in grade two will be mixed in with two people in third grade.

That person happens to be... Kim Dojun.

I patted the guy that looked like an upset puppy turned human. I didn't know what to say, but he doesn't seem to be someone who likes being left alone.

"Don't worry, Jun. This is just the first episode. Instead, you should try making friends with your new roommates."

"I will since you say so, but..."

I sighed. Of course it wouldn't be easy to let something so mundane go just from a few words, not when it's related to a life-long dream.

"I'm in room 4, so if you wanna say something, just come by. Got that?"

Dojun was brightened up by that, even if it's just a little.

"Yes, got it!" Then he waved goodbye to a different hall, dragging his luggage excitedly. This 22-year-old man reminds me of a dog sometimes.

"Honestly, it just doesn't make sense for that guy to get mid-tier scoring."

The person who spoke just now was Kato on my left. Us in the first grades divided our rooms by pulling colored paper, and that led to me rooming with Kato and Nikolai.

They're both in the line-up plan, so this is good.

"I know. His dancing is clearly more polished than others in his company," said Nikolai, running a hand over his red hair. I gotta say, his appearance is most certainly striking. Very attractive, very hot indeed.

"The song is clearly self-made. The beat sounded new, so whoever wrote the lyrics and produced that sound track are obviously different people," I tried to add to the conversation.

I honestly didn't know much about music, but my mouth sure knows how to run around and spout bullshit. The two guys seem agreeable with me, so I guess I'm on the right track.

We continued our conversation even as we handed in our phones. Of course, I threw in a dummy one and had lthe real thing in my pocket so I can contact Admin-nim later. I'm not forgetting my purpose here.

It's finally time to check out our dorm—well, walk to it first, but yeah. There were two flights of stairs and ten rooms in each, we—luckily—got the room in the first floor. It's great because there's less walking to do and the laundry is near our room.

"But Hae... Chan, was it?"

"Ah, yeah. Just call me that, Niko."

"Right. Well, I didn't expect you to have such a performance."

What's that supposed to mean?

His wording almost made me pause there.

"You look like the no-nonsense type that prefers milder songs– ah, of course, I don't mean it in a bad way."

I tried to understand Nikolai's thought process. Sure, I do sort of have that soft-boy or boyfriend look, I think. I thought my mix-dyed hair sharpened my already clear features, but I guess not.

Kato seemed to think the same as Nikolai.

"Don't get fooled by this guy. When we were kids, I asked what music he liked, and he only showed me metal artists!"

"Ah, there was a time like that, huh..."

"Did you forget? You had fluffy black hair and bright doe eyes then, imagine my shock seeing you jam to people's screams!"

I laughed at Kato's exaggeration(?). Surely, I wasn't that soft looking back then.

I had to pause and check my reflection by the nearest window I could find, as if I'd forgotten how I looked like.

"Doe eyes..." my eyes were more like 'siren eyes' with a dark brown color. My hair...I would say it's a bit different—back then, I was able to use sponsored hair products, after all—now I just use anything from the drug store.

I snapped out of it when Nikolai called me over, standing before our door which had the latin symbol for number four on it. It's an English show, after all.

Kato, who also stopped when I paused to check myself out, shrugged his shoulder at me and started walking.

"Honestly, though? Your hair looks great, a mix of black and platinum blonde like that. What do they call it, Hydrox hair?" Kato asked as we walked to the dorm.

"I think so. It's just a few streaks at the front, though."

Nikolai had a key on him, but he probably waited for dramatic effects or something. To me, it's just a temporary place to sleep, but I have to be reactive even to the smallest things. I gladly thank the guy for giving me a chance to act shocked.

When we finally clicked the door handle open, the sight that welcomed us was almost unexpected. I was pleasantly surprised—not to a shocked kind of extent—but jumped happily nonetheless.

"Woah! This room is huge!"

I rushed in with my luggage. "Guys, we have our own bathroom!"

The others were just as shocked as I am. It now made sense why some people from nearby rooms were being loud and all.

"I didn't think they'd give us a whole closet!"

Kato agreed after looking to where Nikolai's finger pointed, "Holy, even I don't have this big of a thing in my room."

"But, guys..."

More importantly than any of these stuff, is:

"Why are there only two beds?"
