Cherreads

Chapter 9 - Strawberry Clothesline (2)

The lady didn't seem like she would return in just a few minutes, but I absolutely do not want spend hours in regret over a few cool looking shirts.

That's why I'm just gonna arrange this store while waiting for her.

I have seen enough clothing store interiors to know what assortment comes first. The first step is the most tedious one, but also pretty quick.

I first looked through all the clothes among the rack then from the boxes, separating them by tops, pants, accessories, then narrowed them down. For example, I divided the tops into shirts, T-shirts, and blouses.

Since thrift stores have clothes made of various materials, they often don't arrange it that way, but by colour instead. A lot of them don't even sort it, but since I have plenty of time, I did just that.

In just ten minutes, I managed to have a few separate piles of clothes on the floor already. I figured this store had just opened since it had about 500 items at most.

"Now all I need to do is hang everything-"

The door to what I assume was a staff room opened with a loud bang. I turned my head to see the same greasy lady from earlier, her expressions changing by the second.

At first, she seemed panicked, then surprised, and finally, apologetic.

I didn't expect her to have come back so quick. Had I known, I would have just waited patiently.

"You. You did all this?" The lady asked with hesitation.

I nodded calmly. She's probably wondering why right about now.

"Why?"

Damn, am I a psychic or something?

"Well, you seemed to be in a hurdle with your worker not present. And I had a lot of free time, so..."

The lady was at a loss for words. I waited patiently for her response.

Finally, she sighed and approached me closer, looking calmer.

"First of all, I am so sorry about my actions earlier, it was a mistake on my end. Is there...any way I can repay for your help?"

"Well."

There definitely is.

"I saw a few cool-looking pieces when I was arranging these clothes..."

The thrift store lady caught on.

"Oh, of course! Take whatever piece you like, free of charge. I'll give you a 50% discount on the next ten things you purchase, too."

Woah, I didn't expect that at all! You mean to say I have to pay for five clothes' worth, and get an extra six pieces?

I smiled, turning my head to check out what clothes I should pick. I forgot I had thrown everything onto the floor already. The racks were empty.

"Why don't we hang everything first?"

The lady seemed happy to hear my suggestion.

.

I took roughly two hours to store everything. The storekeeper, who introduced herself as Berry, had some pretty quick hands. She arranged more clothes than I did and took care of the accessories alone.

I got to pick eleven items as I went through each clothing on the hangers. It was a thrift store, but the things I picked were pretty recently made and by popular clothing lines, too.

Even though we finished by four, Berry and I ended up chatting for a while and she treated me to lunch at a fast-food chain nearby. I didn't complain and happily ate my Burger Prince.

When I returned home, the sky was a darker shade of grey, sun setting. The first thing I did was throw all the things I got into the washing machine along with the outfit I wore today.

The weather was turning colder and there was air conditioning in the Strawberry Clothesline store, but I was still sweating there and needed a quick rinse.

I hopped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my waist and started drying everything from the washer first. I don't have a dryer and had to do it manually, but being used to it meant I was quick with my hands.

Once everything was hung to dry, I put on a new outfit and fell onto my mattress.

Okay, maybe I shouldn't have done that. My nose hurt like shit.

I got into a comfortable position and opened my phone. Checking Instapounds had become a habit once I got to know Kim Dojun. He texts often, but is also quick to give any kind of advice. I don't hate talking to him.

- @dddojun: Okk text me when ur home

That was sent this afternoon, after he posted the picture of us.

Oh, right, the picture!

I was about to check Kim Dojun's account, but the latter seemed to have eyes on the back of his head or some type of sixth sense.

- @dddojun: Chann I saw you were finally online!

- @dddojun: Are u back home? Where were you anyways??

This piece of ass will make me loose it someday.

- @h.chan: I was out to get some clothes. Something else came up, so I ended up spending more time outside.

- @dddojun: Ohhh Can I see them?

- @h.chan: Tomorrow, sure. I just washed them, so they're still drying.

- @dddojun: Yay okayy

We talked a little more after that. Kim Dojun complained about having more training than before, and I figured the reason must be that survival show thing.

We also voice called, where I let him whine about his instructors. It was basically our own little routine.

By the time the sky was dark, I forced Kim Dojun to hang up and go to sleep. I had to work at Grandpa Jung's store tomorrow from five, so sleeping earlier is a must.

Because of everything that happened today, I once again forgot about to check Kim Dojun's post.
