"Clench your teeth."
Leona's first words reverberated through the halls as she stood at the door, her lips pressed tight with a frown. Nikolai didn't think and followed her instructions. At first, he found the slight twitch of her eyes cute.
Then watched her arm rise.
PAH!
She lapped his cheek.
The force turned him away with a stinging ache in his jaw.
Nikolai almost shouted back, but saw the look of guilt and worry in Leona's eyes. So he stopped himself, taking a moment to calm himself while rubbing his cheek.
"Feel better now?"
Leona's green, wet eyes almost burst into tears, causing him to smile bitterly, unable to be angry or push the subject. Nikolai was the criminal here. He cheated and slept with another woman. It would be stupid to cause an issue here.
"I-I'm sorry, it just felt..."
