Allen and Peter were rehearsing dialogues for their Hindi language major. Peter wanted to learn Hindi to make an impression on his girlfriend's parents, who are Indian.
Allen was never interested in another language major, but Peter persuaded him to take it, and he could not say no. It's been months, yet he's struggling with the basics; even Allen was better than him.
Renne could not keep herself from sneaking up beside them.
"Namaste, aap kaise hai? (Hello, how are you?) asks Renne in a low voice, hiding from others.
Allen and Peter turn around.
Aaaaaaa!! Screams Peter, looking at Renne who has her face covered with her hair. Allen shuts Peter's mouth. He points at Renne, "Who's she??"
"How would I know? I don't know her," Peter refutes?
Renne giggles, tucking her hair back.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you," Renne, struggling to control her laugh, introduced herself.
"I saw you guys struggling with the lines, so I hopped in to help you. By the way, I mean no harm."
Peter asks why she would help them and how she's so good at Hindi.
"My aunt is Indian; she taught me some."
Allen could not help but roll his eyes as Peter and Renne gushed about how wonderful it is to have someone teach you their language. Peter agrees to take her help or he might have to sit for the exam again. Even though it's optional, they still need to qualify.
Allen pulled him outside and asked if he knew the girl. Peter didn't know her, but she was willing to help them, so he didn't refuse her.
"How could you easily trust someone?" asks Allen, looking at Renne.
"You don't know her. What's she doing here? Why is she so eager to help you? You don't mind anything. How could you be so carefree?
Before he could declare her to be the antagonist of their lives, Renne cut him off. "I don't have any ulterior motives. I just want you to return the favour back."
"See, I told you," remarks Allen with a scary look.
Renne, however, ignored his accusations and asked Peter to assist her friend in badminton. She knew they could help Meg because she had seen them playing badminton on the court a lot.
"Well, I need to ask Kinn first. He's the only one who can help her" said Peter.
Renne asked him to be on the court at 3 in the evening if his friend agreed.
"Do you think Kinn will help? I am hoping he will not refuse. "This is my only chance to shine." Peter fantasizes about speaking Hindi fluently and having his girlfriend's parents praise him.
Allen laughed at Peter, who was grinning broadly and daydreaming. Allen smacked his head and asked him to go back to the class before their teacher mark them absent.
