Under Ash's command, Venusaur released all its Vine Whips, pulling the fallen trees over to the clearing.

"Scizor, Fraxure, flatten these trees!"

Looking at the several large trees before him, Ash continued issuing commands. Scizor and Fraxure acted immediately, one using Metal Claw and the other using Dragon Claw.

Treating the trees as training targets, they launched swift attacks, stripping away all the branches and leaves. Soon, smooth wooden logs appeared.

"Aerodactyl, Primeape, Electivire—go gather some rocks!"

On one side, Scizor and Fraxure worked as carpenters. On the other, Ash gave orders to the rest of his Pokémon.

"Pidgeotto, Butterfree, Devileon—go find some vines!"

Under Ash's direction, the Pokémon moved in an orderly fashion. Venusaur continued using Razor Leaf to fell trees, then transported them with Vine Whip. Scizor and Fraxure were responsible for shaping the wood.

"I see! Survival skills are also training. All right! Onix and Geodude, come on out and help!" Brock watched Ash's coordination and understood his plan.

He was eager to try this himself. Already skilled at logistics, he released Geodude and Onix to assist.

"I'll help too!" Misty also found the project interesting.

Ash walked to an open area and selected a suitable spot. After Primeape and the others brought over stones, with Kingler and Squirtle's help, Ash arranged the rocks into the shape of a cooking stove. Then he turned to Muk.

"Muk, use your sludge—but remember, don't use too much force!" After setting up the stove's structure, Ash called to Muk nearby.

"Muk!"

Hearing the instruction, Muk expelled mud from its body. The sludge spread across the assembled stove, and soon the rock surface was covered with a layer of mud.

"Charizard, use Flamethrower to dry the mud!"

"ROAR!"

Following Ash's command, Charizard released Flamethrower, engulfing the entire stove in flames. After a moment, the fire dissipated, and the mud had hardened into a solid, functional cooking surface.

"Well done! Next is the shelter! Let's work together on this!"

Soon Pidgeotto and the others returned with vines, which Misty wove together. Ash and Brock enlisted other Pokémon to help, using Onix and Gyarados as scaffolding so they could construct the roof.

With the Pokémon's assistance, a wooden cabin was quickly built. They used leaves and remaining wood to create a large, open sleeping platform.

Onix could sleep outside, Gyarados would rest in the water, and all the other Pokémon could sleep together on the leaf bedding.

"Finished!"

"That's amazing! Building our own shelter gives such a sense of accomplishment!" Misty said while looking at the cabin, wiping sweat from her forehead.

"Yeah! I've actually wanted to do something like this for a long time!" Brock set down his tools as he spoke.

He'd wanted to try wilderness camping like this before, but since most camping trips lasted only one or two days—five or six at most—it really wasn't practical to build a temporary shelter.

"This is the first day of training. Let's rest well tonight!"

Ash looked up at the sky. After all that work, it had already grown dark. Hearing Ash's words, the Pokémon all responded happily.

"All right! I'm going all out tonight to prepare an amazing dinner for everyone!" Brock looked at the warm scene around him and picked up his cooking utensils, his eyes blazing with determination.

Ash and Misty didn't just stand around watching—they helped too. After all, they needed to prepare not only their own food but meals for so many Pokémon as well, which was quite a task.

Fortunately, the resting Pokémon all came over to help voluntarily. Otherwise, it would have taken much longer.

By the time the food was prepared, it was quite late. After everyone ate dinner together, Brock and Misty went to the river to wash the dishes, while Ash sat by the campfire to plan the next day's training regimen.

The Pokémon gathered in small groups—some watching the scenery, others resting lazily, and a few engaging in post-dinner activities.

Brock and Misty didn't disturb Ash. They cleaned up and returned to the cabin to rest, while Ash stayed with the Pokémon.

Without realizing it, the Pokémon who'd been doing their own activities gradually drifted over to the campfire and settled down near Ash.

By late night, Ash had finished creating the training schedule. Many Pokémon were already asleep by then. Not wanting to disturb them, Ash carefully picked up Pikachu and Jigglypuff and returned to the cabin to rest.

The Next Day

Ash woke early as usual. After getting up with Pikachu, he also roused the other Pokémon.

Before breakfast, they began morning training. Knowing that Ash would be competing in the Indigo League soon, the Pokémon took their training seriously.

Gradually, they adapted to Ash's high-intensity training regimen. Ash himself trained alongside his Pokémon—for example, sometimes doing weighted mountain climbing exercises. He held himself to the same strict standards.

Before they knew it, ten days had passed since they'd begun training at Mount Hideaway.

At noon that day, after finishing morning training and while the Pokémon rested, Ash, Brock, and Misty went out to search for ingredients.

If they were going to stay for over a month, they couldn't rely solely on the supplies Brock had brought. So they frequently ventured out to forage for food.

"I never thought we'd find wild mushrooms here! These should be edible—we can make delicious mushroom soup tonight!"

They were lucky that day, discovering mushrooms growing among the rocks on the mountainside.

"Let's bring back plenty!" Ash also gathered some, placing them in his jacket.

"AAAH!" At that moment, a sharp scream rang out.

"Misty?!" Hearing the voice, Ash and Brock froze. They quickly stood up and looked around, only to discover that Misty was nowhere to be seen.
