Three days after Nova's sky-flower negotiation with the Archive, Samantha woke to find their daughter missing.
Not gone—she could still feel Nova through the bond, safe and content. But when she reached the nursery, the crib was empty, and sitting in its place was an envelope made of what appeared to be solidified moonlight.
"Marcus!" Her voice carried enough alarm that all three mates materialized within seconds, various states of dress and panic evident.
"What's—" Marcus stopped, staring at the glowing envelope. "That's not possible. The wards should have—"
"Where's Nova?" Callum demanded.
"She's safe," Samantha said quickly, feeling through the bond. "She's... somewhere else. But not threatened. Curious, actually. I think she's having fun."
Kai carefully picked up the envelope, which chimed softly at his touch. "Should we open this or incinerate it? Because I'm getting mixed signals from my wolf."
