The story of Lu Xiaodie was not much different from what Wufu had guessed; it was another bloody tale of exploiting power to bully and dominate the market.
Lu Xiaodie's mother, Sister-in-law Lu, was a skilled and resourceful woman. Her husband had died early, but she had a unique art: Thousand-Weave Su embroidery, which she named Thousand-Weave Embroidery. Compared to traditional Su embroidery, her style produced more dynamic pieces. With this craft, she supported herself and her daughter, living a relatively prosperous life.
Her entry into Rongxiu Pavilion was coincidental; during a trip to offer incense, Madam Wang saved Sister-in-law Lu and her daughter from a bully. Upon hearing of Sister-in-law Lu's skills, she intended to hire them at Rongxiu Pavilion, and they signed a contract promising Sister-in-law Lu a share of the profits for every piece created.
