"Brother Yisheng, this restaurant is quite famous around here. Try the food, and if you don't like it, I can order something else for you," Jennifer said with a smile, setting the cutlery in place.
Jiang Yisheng looked at the table full of food, a dark line forming at his temple.
Had she ordered every signature dish from the restaurant?
"I'm not hungry. Just eat by yourself," he said, his tone distant. "Thank you for coming to visit me, but I have people here to look after me, so there's no need for you to go out of your way to help."
At his words, Jennifer's face turned slightly pale.
The cup in her hand almost slipped from her grasp.
"It's no trouble at all. I don't have anything else to do, so I can take care of you," she said, forcing a smile.
Jiang Yisheng was even more direct, "I appreciate your kindness, but please, you should go."
Jennifer's eyes reddened, and she looked on the verge of tears. "Brother Yisheng, do you have someone you like?"
