"M-migraine?" She managed to speak, despite the fact that the word had drained all of the colour from her face.
How could she have a migraine?
" It is primarily caused by stress, climate change, or hormonal shifts. You are indeed fortunate. You arrived at an early stage, so it is not a chronic condition." He said.
"I-is th-ere... Is there a cure for it?" She voiced out in a less audible tone.
"Fortunately. There are two alternatives... The first one is the medical alternative.
This may not be as effective for everyone because everyone is different, which means there is no 100% guarantee of resolving this disorder. There is a possibility that it might work for you though.
Another option is surgery, in which we decompress or block certain nerves to help correct the disorder; this is not guaranteed, but it is significantly better.
I strongly advise you to pursue the medication alternative, as it is still in its early stages." She slowly nodded in agreement with what he said.
"Keep in mind that there is no cure for this; both options can only reduce, decompress, or block the action of the migraine, preventing it from worsening. If not treated, it may develop into a brain tumour... I'll prescribe the drugs for the treatment." he said and turned to the laptop.
Ariane felt the whole place going blank as she sat Infront of the doctor.
She never expected to be diagnosed with migraines... especially now that she still had a lot to do and Her family?
She didn't want to create more messes right now.
Her main goal was to get her family out of their current situation and avoid getting into another one.
~~~
In the company, Ariane sat in her seat in front of Elian's office, her mind replaying the doctor's words.
She couldn't think straight anylonger, her mind kept drifting off and she couldn't help it.
Elian was currently in his office, having a meeting with someone, but she preferred to sit out there and wait until he needed her before calling.
Across from her on her desk was her little journal. Maybe if she let her heart out, she'd be better.
[ I-i have a disease... I-i am not in perfect health... I-i might die?] She paused.
"I...I might die." She muttered.
Her expression turned to a smile, and a minute after that, she started laughing.
However, the hurt she was feeling inside caused her laughter to turn to sadness, and eventually she started crying.
"I-i don't want to die." She said in-between her tears as she cried even more.
How could she have a migraines all of a sudden? She could not help but worry about her health, even though the doctor said it could be helped.
What happens if it becomes something far worse?
And why did she have migraines?
Her thoughts then drifted back to the previous few days, when she thought her life was getting better until 'he' appeared.
Ever since, her life changed, like a nightmare of long lasting torture.
He made her go late, giving her ex boss girlfriend a chance to bully her.
He caused her to lose her job and all hope of helping her family.
She got so stressed out working for him that she ended up getting a migraine.
She slowly raised her head up and stared at his office door, feeling the hatred growing inside of her.
He had insulted her and made her become to stressed out. How could a human be like that?
She wiped her tears and just then, his office door opened. Three men walked out of the office before Elian followed suit.
Ariane stood up when the men walked away.
"All right, Mr. Anders, have a nice day." Elain said as he stood by the door.
Ariane then turned her gaze to him and gave him a stern look.
She must quit before he destroys her entire health.
Elian turned as he felt her intense gazes on him, but he was taken aback by the expression in her eyes.
With a sly smile,
"You seem as though you want to devour me or something." He said, continuing to fix his gaze on Ariane.
Her once gentle expression had vanished.
"I can't stand you anylonger. I want to quit, and if you think you can use that private contract against me, do not bother. I'll pay every damn penny I owe."
She said, as he stared at him with anger in her eyes.
Hearing this made Elian chuckled.
She was a little taken aback when he moved closer, but her actions remained unchanged.
"Is there a guarantee that I'll be paid within two days?" He asked to see her Avert her gaze.
"I'd be rather willing to take a bank loan and repay you with that." Elian chuckled once more at her words.
"I know you will, but I think you are forgetting something.
First, as you are aware, I am able to imprison you at this time.
Secondly, it is possible that you have overlooked the terms of the contract you signed with this company, which explicitly state that employees cannot request to leave their jobs until one month has passed, unless I fire them. Have you forgotten this?
You shouldn't go around signing contract you can't keep, miss Niles." He said.
Hearing this dashed her hopes of quitting; how could she possibly wait until the end of the month?
She deeply regrets taking the job; she no longer cares about the money.
"Th-then fire me." She said, she couldn't even imagine what would happen to her but she certainly can't stay with him anylonger.
"I'm not the kind who likes to please people, you know?" He said and added.
"I am sure you are smart enough to make the best decision for yourself, because I will not grant any of your requests." Then he turned around and went into his office.
Ariane staggered and fell onto her chair.
"He really is inhuman. A beast " she muttered.
Its only been 6 days yet, she's developed migraine.
If she stays till the month ends?
She can't even quit?
She took out her pen and diary and began writing.
"[I- I'm gonna die.]" She really is going to die, working directly with a beast.
