Sabrina walked into her office with her tablet hugged against her chest. Her meeting had run almost an hour longer than planned and her head was spinning.
She pushed the door open, expecting to find her assistant at her desk outside, but instead she froze right on the threshold.
Her grandmother was sitting comfortably in one of the armchairs by the window, a little smile playing on her lips as she sipped from a cup of tea. Next to her, Grace, Alex's mother, sat just as relaxed, flipping through a bridal magazine.
Sabrina blinked, her mouth dropping open. "Grandma? Grace?"
Grace looked up and beamed. "Hello, dear!" She greeted, standing up to embrace Sabrina happily. "How are you doing?"
After their first meeting at the Hamilton estate, they had met again a couple of times and each time Grace's warmth never ceased to amaze Sabrina.
Her grandmother gave a little wave with her free hand. "Surprise," she said after Sabrina had exchanged pleasantries with Grace.
