Chapter 14 - USJ (I)

After watching our classmates get warped away, their fates uncertain, Thirteen stepped forward to confront Kurogiri using her Black Hole quirk. At that moment, the only real advantage we had over the villains was that they didn't know reinforcements were already on their way—we just needed to buy time until they arrived.

Earlier, I had suggested to Thirteen and the others that we stage an act—making it look like we were trying to send someone outside to contact U.A. for reinforcements, just to keep up appearances.

I proposed that Ida take on this role, as his Quirk naturally screamed speed and, being the class representative, it would make the act far more believable. I'd mentioned this plan as a precaution, in case U.A. didn't receive my earlier message or failed to grasp the true severity of the situation.

Thanks to my passive boon of having a naturally positive favourability, my words carried weight; everyone trusted me almost instinctively, and the plan was accepted without hesitation.

So, just like in the original timeline, we staged a scene where Ida—the "fastest among us"—would run to get help. Kurogiri actually chuckled at our "obvious" plan, amused that we were discussing it right in front of him.

When Thirteen attacked, Kurogiri cleverly used his Warp Gate to redirect her Black Hole quirk back toward her, the swirling void tearing at her suit. For a moment, everyone thought she had been taken out, panic flashing across their faces.

I didn't waste that moment. "Go, Ida! Don't let Thirteen's efforts be for nothing!"

I shouted. Without hesitation, he turned and sprinted toward the exit at full speed.

Kurogiri moved in to intercept him, his misty form shifting toward Iida's path—but this time, I stepped forward. Before anyone could react, I targeted the metal neckband, the only solid part of his body, and delivered a clean, powerful punch.

The impact sent Kurogiri flying across the dome, crashing into the far end of the USJ. The shock on everyone's faces was priceless. Even Shigaraki, who had been gleefully watching All Might clash with the Nomu, froze mid-laugh, his eyes widening comically as he frantically scanned the battlefield to figure out what had just happened.

My classmates stared at me, still processing the fact that I had just physically launched a high-level villain across the battlefield like a broken kite. I gave them a calm smile and raised my voice, steady and firm.

"It's not over yet. Get it together, everyone! Ida will bring reinforcements—our job is to hold the line until then. It's time to act like the heroes we're supposed to be!"

My words snapped them out of their shock. One by one, their expressions hardened with determination, the fear in their eyes replaced by resolve.

All Might's POV

I am the Symbol of Peace. No matter the situation, I always wear a bright smile—to keep myself steady, to reassure everyone that everything will be alright. Because I am here.

But today, I wasn't smiling. Not even a little. The rage boiling inside me left no room for smiles. All I could do was grit my teeth, clench my fists, and fight on.

I shouldn't have wasted my time doing hero work this morning… Even though I managed to recover enough to last for a while, in a fight of this intensity, my time is running out faster than I'd like to admit. And the worst part? I have to defeat this creature before my power gives out completely. There's no room for error.

My gaze sweeps across the battlefield. Aizawa is holding his ground, but it's clear he's being overwhelmed. Even though the villains surrounding him are nothing more than a disorganized mob of weak quirk users, their sheer numbers are starting to wear him down.

Aizawa's strength lies in swift takedowns and ambushes—not prolonged brawls like this. His stamina won't last. And scattered among the small fry, I can spot a few individuals who are clearly more dangerous… especially him—the one covered in dismembered hands, watching my fight with a disturbingly gleeful expression.

I glance toward the evacuation point where Thirteen was supposed to lead the students to safety, but my stomach tightens when I see the scene. Not everyone is there.

In fact, only a handful of students remain, and Thirteen herself is facing off against the villain with the warp quirk. My eyes widen when I see her own attack reflected back at her, tearing her suit apart. My fists clench in frustration.

Anger wells up inside me—anger at my powerlessness. No matter how hard I strike this creature named Nomu, it simply absorbs my blows. Worse, it regenerates from any damage almost instantly. And that's not all… there's another one. A second Nomu, looming near the hand-covered villain, watching the battle calmly as if he already knows how this will end.

Before I can formulate a concrete plan to save the students, something unexpected happens. The warp villain suddenly goes flying over my head like a ragdoll, crashing into the far end of the dome. My eyes follow the trajectory in disbelief. That wasn't me. Someone else did that.

The momentary defeat of the warp villain makes the hand-covered one falter for the first time, his attention snapping away from me. The Nomu, too, hesitates ever so slightly. And that's all the opening I need.

"NOW!" I roar internally as I drive my fists forward, unleashing a flurry of blows at full power. I pour every ounce of strength I have left into overwhelming the creature before it can fully absorb the impact. The air shatters with each strike, shockwaves rippling through the USJ as I hammer away relentlessly.

"... TEXAS… SMASH!!"

With a thunderous roar and a final, earth-shaking punch, I sent the Nomu hurtling through the air. The sheer force of the blow overwhelmed its regenerative abilities—damage it couldn't absorb or recover from easily. The creature blasted out of the USJ dome, disappearing into the sky and vanishing into the clouds like a broken projectile.

But even victory comes at a price.

Almost immediately, a familiar sensation creeps over me—steam begins to pour from my body. "No… not now!" I protest silently, gritting my teeth. I try to force my power to remain, to push through, but my body doesn't listen. My strength slips through my fingers like sand, my muscles deflating, my form reverting.

My knees hit the ground hard. Steam billows around me as my breath comes in ragged gasps. My once-mighty figure shrinks into my true, frail self. Damn it… it's too soon.

General POV

Once the students were scattered across the various disaster zones, chaos briefly reigned. The sudden separation and the shock of facing real villains left many of them tense and uncertain. But after a few moments to steady their nerves, the future heroes of U.A. began to adapt. Their training kicked in, their instincts sharpened, and one by one, they rose to the occasion.

In the Shipwreck Zone, Izuku and Tsuyu quickly took stock of their surroundings and assessed the enemy positions. Rather than rushing in recklessly, they formulated a strategy on the spot. Tsuyu used her superior mobility and natural advantage in the water to scout and maneuver, while Izuku's sharp analytical mind pieced together the best way to turn the environment against their opponents.

With a decisive move, Izuku flicked his finger toward the center of the water, releasing a powerful blast of wind pressure. The shockwave split the surface apart, creating a massive gap that instantly reconverged, forming a violent whirlpool that dragged several unsuspecting villains into its pull. Tsuyu seized the opening, swiftly disabling any stragglers with precise, fluid strikes.

Their combination of brains and instinct allowed them to dominate the battlefield in moments. With the shipwreck zone cleared, the two exchanged a quick, determined nod. Their next objective was clear: regroup with Aizawa at the central plaza and provide backup for the main fight.

Over in the Landslide Zone, Shoto confronted a group of villains without a hint of hesitation. While others might have panicked at being suddenly warped into enemy territory, he remained composed, his sharp eyes already analyzing the terrain.

With a single, precise sweep of his arm, an immense wave of ice surged forward, freezing the ground, the cliffs, and the villains in one clean motion. In mere seconds, the battlefield was completely locked down—turning what could've been a chaotic skirmish into a frozen graveyard of immobilized foes.

Calmly walking through the frozen terrain, Shoto approached one of the trapped villains. His breath fogged the air as he crouched down, his expression utterly emotionless.

"I'm a hero," he said coolly, "so I shouldn't kill you… but if I don't release this ice, it'll slowly kill you molecule by molecule." His voice didn't waver, making it clear that he wasn't bluffing. "So, why don't you make this easy and tell me your real plan?"

Faced with the chilling certainty of death, the villain broke almost instantly, spilling everything they knew—including the League's objective to kill All Might. Hearing this only confirmed Shoto's earlier suspicions, hardening his resolve for the battle ahead.

Meanwhile, in the Mountain Zone, Momo, Denki, and Kyoka were ambushed the moment they regained their footing. The villains tried to overwhelm them through sheer numbers, but the trio quickly shifted to a defensive formation.

Using her quirk creatively, Momo manufactured upgraded, high-voltage taser guns, allowing them to disable their attackers one by one with precision. Just when victory seemed certain, an electric-type villain appeared, overpowering Denki and taking him hostage.

But Momo didn't flinch. Pretending to surrender, she patiently waited for the villain to lower his guard before striking back with a perfectly timed counter, taking him down with Kyoka's support and freeing Denki in the process.

In the Ruins Zone, Katsuki and Eijiro fought back-to-back against a relentless wave of villains. Their aggressive styles complemented each other: Bakugo's explosive offense and Kirishima's unbreakable defense formed a devastating combination.

Through sheer force and coordination, they crushed their opponents despite the initial disadvantage. Once the area was secured, Eijiro suggested they go help the others, but Bakugo—ever confident—insisted their classmates could handle themselves. Instead, he set his sights on Kurogiri, recognizing him as the villains' likely escape route. Taking him down would cripple their entire operation.

Elsewhere, in the Fire, Windstorm, and other zones, Mashirao, Fumikage, and Koji also faced intense battles of their own. Though pushed to their limits, each of them relied on their training, quick thinking, and superior quirks to turn the tide, neutralizing their foes through smart tactics rather than brute force alone.

Despite being first-years, everyone here had earned their place at U.A.—Japan's top hero academy. They weren't just talented; they were the best of the best.

And while the League's villains were dangerous, they were still a ragtag bunch compared to these elite students. Through determination, ingenuity, and teamwork, Class 1-A proved that they weren't easy prey—they were future heroes in the making.
