Jian Xi observed her intently.
Jian Tong knew she wouldn't believe it, so she took out her phone and pulled up a few photos: "Take a look!"
"Lung cancer, mid-stage?" Jian Xi was dumbfounded.
"Yes. The doctor said it's incurable, just a matter of biding time." Jian Tong's eyes were already red.
So, Uncle had come here because he was ill. Instantly, a sense of guilt welled up. Jian Xi closed the folder: "When did they find out?"
"Just these last few days. He doesn't know yet; my mom and I are keeping it from him. My dad has always felt quite guilty, but he can't be solely blamed for this. My aunt and uncle-in-law also bear responsibility."
The past grievances, Jian Xi didn't quite understand.
She thought for a moment, then stood up: "Alright, let's go back first."
"Thank you."
Jian Tong left first. Jian Xi called Nan Mufeng and briefly mentioned her uncle's arrival.
