Among the more than two hundred continents in The Second World, the vast majority are situated in the Northern Hemisphere, while the Southern Hemisphere is mostly endless ocean, nearly forgotten. Even most world maps omit the Southern Hemisphere, showing only the geographic features of the Northern Hemisphere.
The Second World knows very little about the ocean regions of the Southern Hemisphere, and even the Oskan Royal Academy is unaware of what species exist there. Only a few explorers who have survived trips to the Southern Hemisphere have left behind legends of its ocean realms.
