A massive insect swarm fluttered aimlessly over the wilderness, searching the air for lingering scent clues, but without direction or result. Meanwhile, within the grey dome, the surviving hundreds watched the wandering swarm outside with tense unease.
As time ticked away, the swarm hovering in the sky began to disperse in search of living creatures, spreading in different directions over the wilderness. However, many remained, some feeding on discarded horses and corpses along the way, while others simply rested on the ground.
In such circumstances, those inside the dome could only lower their voices and movements, waiting with utmost caution.
Without a clock, the swarm outside seemed to drag time, and even though they could rest, many dared not close their eyes.
