The battle escalated as metal clashed against flame, magnetic barriers rippled against molten bursts, and the very air between them seemed to tear apart, crackling with low-level gravitational pulses.
Magneto retaliated, hurling sheets of razor-sharp debris, bending them in impossible arcs, while Gojo was forced to redirect his heat waves and deflect them with gusts of concentrated wind. Gojo was pushed back, the sheer force of Magneto's constructs and electromagnetism slicing through his defenses.
Gojo adapted and rejected a tiny portion of space surrounding himself as he moved unabated. Gojo flew through a crushed area as he dodged a barrage of magneto's razor sharp shrapnels, Gojo glanced behind him and released a burst of telekinetic slashes all around him that reduced the sharpnels and the whole area to bits and pieces before teleporting around touching the ground lightly and disappearing again, he began subtly shape the battlefield. But before he could teleport away for the last time he was caught as he teleported into an invisible wall.
Magneto, convinced he had finally cornered Gojo, descended like a predator on its prey, eyes burning with cold fury. His outstretched hands crackled with power, magnetic lines shimmering in the air like a spider's web across the battlefield. With a decisive motion, he intensified his control, the electromagnetic forces of the planet itself thrumming beneath his command.
The ground buckled and groaned, warping as the very planet's magnetic field twisted under Magneto's will. Gojo felt and saw it instantly an invisible weight crushing down on him, his body slamming into the fractured concrete, the force so immense that his own muscles strained, his bones creaked under the pressure, and the air seemed to shiver with magnetic vibrations.
Gojo's telekinetic field flickered, struggling to resist the overwhelming force. His red-hot eyes dimmed, the molten glow sputtering, and his teeth clenched stained with blood as he felt his organs collapse, it was as if the very earth was trying to grind him into dust.
Above him, Magneto's strained voice rang out, dark and heavy "You are powerful, boy… no one has ever pushed me to this point. You could have been a king what a waste."
Magneto's hands lowered, ready to deliver the final blow, the air around him humming with lethal energy, ready to atomize Gojo where he lay.
But just as the words left his mouth, a golden shimmer pulsed faintly around Gojo, it was barely perceptible at first like a flicker.
Magneto's eyes narrowed in confusion a split second too late.
With a sharp pulse of energy, Gojo teleported just four feet up into the air, right below Magneto. The move was sudden, almost instinctual, his rejection field slipping him through the crushing electromagnetic web. In one swift, brutal motion, Gojo's hand snapped forward, grabbing Magneto's ankle.
A bloody smirk twisted Gojo's face, his eyes igniting with a fresh, blinding intensity, like twin furnaces of molten red, radiating a golden edge.
"Gotcha."
Magneto's eyes widened in shock, something that has been on repeat since fighting gojo. But before he could react
BOOOOOOOOM.
Gojo's traps detonated the hidden fields of volatile energy he had planted earlier ignited in a chain reaction, bursting in a cataclysmic eruption of golden-white heat, compressed air and concussive force so powerful it flattened everything in its path.
The explosion was monumental, a towering pillar of golden flame that roared into the sky, engulfing an entire 1000-meter radius like a titanic inferno. The very fabric of the city warped, the remnants of buildings disintegrating in the blast, streets melting into rivers of slag, glass vaporizing under the sheer thermal pulse.
Magneto's form was caught in the heart of the inferno, swallowed whole by the blast. The golden flames seared and pulsed like a miniature sun, consuming the magnetic field he had desperately tried to hold together. His armor twisted, his powers flickering and fracturing from the shock. The roar of the explosion rippled outward, a catastrophic wave that swallowed the city's skyline in molten fury.
The shockwave rippled outward, a deep, resonating boom that could be felt for miles, rattling the bones of those who watched the pillar of fire in terror and awe. The flames shot so high into the sky that they illuminated the heavens, a beacon of destruction for the entire world to witness.
Several minutes later…
Inside S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ, the air was thick with tension. Technicians scrambled between consoles, a cacophony of alerts and warning lights blaring across the main screen. Tony's satellite feeds zoomed in on the devastation. An entire cityscape obliterated, the ground scorched black, a smoking crater at the center of it all.
Nick Fury stood at the helm, arms crossed, his single eye narrowing at the sheer scope of destruction.
"Jesus..." Fury muttered under his breath.
Cap turned sharply, stepping closer to the screens. "What is it? What's going on?"
An agent rattled off a report, voice shaking slightly. "Sir... we have complete satellite lock. The entire sector... it's just gone. The city is leveled. Debris fields, fires spreading to the outskirts... and... the electromagnetic disturbances are dissipating."
Another agent chimed in, "Metallic debris that was previously suspended... it's all falling back down. Elevation fluctuations stabilizing. Aircrafts and naval ships that lost control are regaining systems."
A third agent called out, "The magnetic pulses... they've ceased entirely. Earthquake activity stopped, but... sir, there's damage reports coming in from the nearby cities sir, cracked streets, ruptured water lines, shattered windows, minor structural collapses."
A red light blinked. Fury's comm buzzed an incoming transmission.
Fury picked up.
A sharp voice crackled through, "Fury. What in the hell is happening out there? That whole city just went up in flames. It's all over the news explain."
Before Fury could respond, more agents flooded him with reports.
"Sir! Reports coming in... the magnetic field collapse has stabilized regional electronics... electromagnetic surges are fading... fallout detected but manageable."
A voice from the Council cut in, sharp and demanding, "Fury. The two mutants. Magneto and the other one, the white-haired boy. Who the hell is he?"
He stared at the screen, the flames slowly receding to reveal the smoldering crater. His face unreadable, he replied, "I don't know."
Cap's jaw tensed. He looked at Fury sharply, but when Fury gave him a side glance, Cap's features softened, and he hid a small, almost imperceptible smile.
The Council's voices rose, arguing amongst themselves.
"Mutants like these... they're a global threat."
"This level of power... it's catastrophic. What if it had been New York?"
"We need to consider more aggressive protocols, Director Fury."
As the Council debated, an agent suddenly called out, "Sir... you'll want to see this."
He pointed at the screen.
The smoke cleared revealing a massive, smoking crater at the heart of the destruction.
