Rise could not say that this ruined world was very important to the plot, but it contains crucial characters for sure, for the future Epsilon, one that greatly helped his progress as the protagonist.
Zenos was one, Dan was another. And in the end, Epsilon would prevail and conquer the world like it was nothing.
Everything was purely nonsense from his perspective, but that would happen, regardless of his feelings.

The city built to serve as the last stronghold of humanity seemed far more magnificent than the rumors. Rise had not seen it before, finding the place to be boring.
Rise looked down, putting his hand above his eyes as though wanting to see the place a bit clearer.
