Chapter 319 Sixth Patient
After Lucia landed, she greeted everyone with a graceful bow. Rising from her bow, she fluttered her brim like wings before lifting off once more and began performing tricks in the sky, flipping and maneuvering with the skill of a bird.
Jonah watched the hat's antics in confusion, pinching himself until the area he was pinching began to turn red. "This isn't real, is it?" he asked, his voice faint. Daniel placed a hand on Jonah's shoulder, patting him gently as he stared at the same scene beside him. "Indeed, it is real," he replied.
Returning to the matter at hand, Daniel could assume as to why Aleshia had come to this place. "Aleshia, please feel free to continue with your plans. We won't disturb you if that's what you want," he said. Jonah was initially confused by his words, but he understood after a moment's realization.
Aleshia nodded before calling Lucia down. "That's enough! You've made Jonah hurt himself because he can't believe you are real."
'Pft, alright, fine,' Lucia transmitted back, visibly chuckling. After gracefully descending, she rested on Aleshia's head as if she had always been there all along. After Lucia had captivated the audience with a show, Aleshia approached the cot where the final person lay. Once she cured them, this would be her sixth and last patient.
As she had done many times before, she prepared her magic circle with Lucia watching over her. After setting everything up, Aleshia and Lucia reviewed the circle. After some discussion, they began to adjust certain aspects of it. After testing the constructs outside of the body, they began connecting parts to the patient's mana circuits. It had been almost ten minutes since they started, and now they were finally ready to begin the process.
Aleshia called out a warning, "This could be bright, so make sure to cover your eyes." Having witnessed her magic before, Daniel promptly covered his face with his arm. Jonah was a bit slower to react, but eventually, he mimicked Daniel's posture.
Once Aleshia confirmed that everyone had protected their eyes, she activated her magic. Lucia grasped the mana flowing from Aleshia and filtered the pressure entering the circle. As with the previous iterations of the circle, it began to glow brighter, and eventually it appeared as though the light was passing through Aleshia's arms, creating a bluish-white radiance. Despite the shock and alarm coming from the others, Aleshia focused on delivering mana, feeling reassured by Lucia's guidance and trusting that she was in good hands.
