Chapter 299 Cleanup
"Aww, thanks," Aleshia shyly replied to Rebel's compliment. "Well, it seems you two have finished your meals. Let me take your plates and utensils away."
Aleshia placed the utensils on top of the plates to carry them more easily. After thanking them for allowing her to stay at the camp, she headed for the door, exiting the room and closing the door behind her. With the dirty plates in hand, Aleshia returned to the kitchen and set them down on top of a stack of other dirty plates.
When Aleshia joined the kids at the sink, a line was already waiting for the faucet. To resolve this issue, she began to create orbs of water. The other kids quickly understood what she was doing and started using the orbs to wash their hands before leaving. Once everyone had cleaned their hands, Aleshia vaporized the water and created new orbs to hold the dirty plates and utensils.
The water swirled as it cleaned the dirty dishes. When things started to slow down, the kids brought the plates out of the water and began drying them off, while others started adding more dirty dishes to the water. Once all the dishes were clean, Aleshia publicly thanked the kids for their help that day. "Thank you all for being here, even though this kind of work isn't always what most people prefer to do. I really appreciate it."
After Aleshia expressed her thanks to the group, the children responded, "Thank you for helping us with the workload!" A few of them approached her, saying, "Thank you for the meal; I really enjoyed it." Others chimed in, "Please continue to stay with us."
Aleshia was delighted to hear how much the children appreciated her. With a new pep in her step, she walked to the usual meeting spot, estimating that it was nearly time for the others to arrive. When she reached the door, she saw Stella and Kelly standing there. As she joined them, she asked, "Hi! Where are the others? Will they be here soon?"
"Oh, hi, Aleshia," Kelly waved. "The others are getting ready, but they should be here any moment."
"What she said, they will be along shortly," Stella said brusquely.
"Alright then," Aleshia replied, accepting her fate as she waited by the door, just like Kelly and Stella. After a while, Brian and Cecelia arrived. Cecelia greeted Aleshia with an energetic enthusiasm, though a hint of gluttony sparkled in her eyes. She quickly toned it down when addressing the other two, simply saying, "Hi."
