The best way to go against luck was not to go against it at all.
This was what Kai had concluded after witnessing Assassin's luck affecting his actions, despite the Lucky Intuitions and the Ad Infinitum. Which, in return, had ended up with the evil Betty Shaw attacking the Einzbern Castle.
At that time, Kai had only an outline of how he was going to use luck in the Holy Grail War.
If Assassin were the Holy Grail's beloved, then surely whoever the corrupt Greater Grail supported would also be its beloved.
If Kai had just been a member of the audience in this timeline, then it wouldn't have mattered. The storyline Characters, like Shirou, Archer, Rin, and Illya, would have made the mechanisms of luck useless.
But Kai was here to win, as a Contestant.
With the fate of the entire world on the line, it was crucial that he planned for the unavoidable battle of lucks.
That's where Kai's conclusion came into the picture.
Having a high Luck Stat didn't matter if everyone around him also had unquantifiable luck.
So, if luck wasn't going to be a factor in the upcoming battle, then Kai needed to find a way to make it.
That thought had ended with him commanding Selene to use Unlucky Gossip on him, which began eating away his luck, widening the gap between him and Characters.
At that time, Kai did not know how he was going to use this to his advantage, as this had only been an experiment.
He had known only one thing.
A temporary value of Luck didn't matter — as long as he was the Lucky One.
It was only after the detailed Blood Prophecy in the Reality Marble that this plan had truly begun shaping.
Kai had already prepared himself for the descent of Gorgon.
Medusa Alter's summoning and letting the Avenger Class Servant possess her was going to be the turning point of the battle.
It would also be nothing but the unluckiest event in the timeline for him, almost confirming his loss.
So, if he survived that event, successfully dispatching Gorgon using Joyless Slaughter, while still being unlucky, then couldn't he somehow turn all that compiled misfortune into a sudden avalanche of… fortune?!
Gorgon's disappearance wouldn't mean Medusa Alter's disappearance, Kai had thought.
The chasm between his luck and Medusa Alter's luck, through the Greater Grail, would make sure that she would survive. To confirm his theory, he could attack her with the strength that otherwise would have been enough to kill her.
If she survived, then it would mean that his plan had worked.
And, if that plan worked, then why let Medusa Alter go…
Why not use all that power for himself? Why not let Selene devour her, sealing the Spirit within her?! And why not then let Zelretch bestow the Blessing of True Ancestor upon the Three-Headed Devourer?!!
But to make that happen, he would have to turn his misfortune into fortune, while simultaneously turning Medusa Alter's fortune into misfortune.
With his thoughts reaching to this point, Kai had found no one who could do such a logic-defying, reality-bending phenomenon, but one.
Yhwach — The King of Quincies!
During their battle with the Half-Deep One, the Storm Pirates had stormed The Tales of Beedle the Bard, sealing the Soul King within it.
The Item had failed to capture the tales of The Banished One, Princess Serenity, and Ben Tennyson. However, it had captured the tales of Yhwach, Madara, Wizard King, Acnologia, and Meruem, all having C+ and B+ Graded Skills.
Using the B+ Skills was out of the question, as even the C+ Skill would loosen the Seal over the Soul King within the Grimoire, Julius Novachrono had told Kai.
Still, was this slight loosening of the Seal worth the risk?!
Risks Without Benefits had always gone against Kai's ideals. In this case, though, with Holy Grail and his plan regarding Verse Fusion in mind, it was indeed worth the risk.
Also, with the Grimoire's Characters always knowing what was happening outside the Item, Kai didn't even have to call out Yhwach to confirm his plan with him.
In the end, if all truly worked out as he had planned, then he would just need to… ask for help.
Even after leaving the Reality Marble, Kai hadn't been truly sure if things would work out.
There were just too many things that could go wrong, especially when Luck, Fate, and Deep Ones were involved.
But, time after time, Kai began getting little clues that it would work.
Like the first jump in the Master Manipulator Ability's Proficiency, right after his talk with Zelretch.
Even the Deep One had failed to know the reason behind this sudden rise in Kai's ability.
It had imbued Kai with confidence, though, setting his mind to see this plan to the very end.
With Yhwach accepting Kai's request for help, no doubt remained about this plan's result.
And if the presence of a King wasn't enough, then… what about the notification?

[Outer One Title confirmed…]
…
Selene thrashed her heads and tail madly, a tear opening along her length. From the tear, blood came pouring out, along with the Blackened Spirit's hands.
Kai bowed to Yhwach. "I need to shift my misfortune to Medusa Alter."
In the next moment, multiple pupils appeared in Yhwach's eyes, his finger landing on Kai's head.
A beam of blue-yellow radiance shot out of Kai, disappearing beyond the sky.
Slowly, a letter began appearing on his forehead.
It was the letter B.
It was a Schrift — The Balance, dispersing the massive misfortune from Kai to Medusa Alter.
Suddenly, with his self-imposed misfortune gone, Kai's Luck soared to its true value, rising to 157… and then to 200!!!

[Activating Cosmic Authority…]
…
As if someone had switched frames of reality, Medusa Alter suddenly lost all control over herself.
Even the Greater Grail's black hole, that had been pouring out blood… dried up.

…
Of course, without a constant supply of Mana from the Greater Grail, Medusa Alter was disappearing as well.
Kai… wouldn't let that happen.
Right here and now, he was going to cause a Multiverse Interdependency, as, at the end of the day, a Heroic Spirit was still a Spirit… just like a Tailed Beast.
"A Multiverse Interdependency between Fate and Naruto Bubble's concepts," Yhwach learned the truth with a mere shift of his eyes. "I see… Why are you sure that it will work?"
"Because…" Kai smiled. "… All Evil Must Perish…"
Yhwach's eyes let out an admiring glow. "I see…" He remembered the Skill. "… After killing you, Nothing Is Impossible has only Medusa Alter left to eradicate… Brilliant!"
Kai hadn't actually died.
But as Berserker, he had possessed two fates.
Nothing Is Impossible had no time limit. The words he had uttered during the Zaouken Matou incident in the beginning , All Evil Must Perish, were as true for Kai as it was for others.
However, with Medea's help, he had successfully saved his own fate, sacrificing Berserker's.
And that was no Luck.
It was a conspiracy against fate to its very core.
Ironically, the conspirator was not only an evil, but a hero as well.

"Orochimaru," Kai commanded, bringing out the Shinobi. "Do it."
Grinning ear to ear, Orochimaru blurred toward Selene, casting hand signs.
Then, with a bang, he slapped his hand on Selene's belly, strange glyphs covering her entire body. "Eight Trigrams Sealing Style!"
With a BOOM, the Greater Grail's black hole, hovering in the sky, exploded.

And, with all traces of Angra Mainyu gone, and the remaining sealed, all the Mana that had gone to Him… came rushing to the Lesser Grail.
Yhwach saw the Holy Grail manifesting over Black's head, covering the kid in a shower of golden radiance, and smiled.
"Well done." He put a hand on Kai's head and ruffled his hair before vanishing. "Your father would have been proud…"
