Hans' was puzzled at the beasts' unusual behavior. Those at the seventh stage and above would be mostly territorial and would not move unless they're threatened by another beast of similar strength, yet five of them are rushing in the same direction?
The reason he effortlessly block the Thunderclaw Bear's attack was because it was still too inexperienced when it came to handling mana outside its body. The beast in the 8th stage are different, as they had more time to familiarize themselves with the process.
They were many times more dangerous then this amateur bear.
'Although I should have no problem dealing with them as long as I don't let my guard down, their behavior is too abnormal. It's best I retreat for now to observe them more.'
Blue mana gathered at the palm of Hans'
hand as a sword materialized. Tightly grabbing the sword, Hans swung it towards the Thunderclaw Bear. It tried to block the slash with mana but the attemp was futile.
The slash went penetrated through its fur and sank deep into the flesh, destroying its heart and lungs and killing it on the spot as blood gushed out from the corpse.
'With this, the mission is done, we should get going soon. Fortunately, Luriel is still inside my formation. The beasts won't be able to detect his presense.'
Hans willed mana into his legs and used a movement technique from his sect to leap 30 meters into the air. The flow of mana changed as he prepared to use Eagle Overlord to fly away from the battlefield.
Suddenly, his movement halted as a giant
shadow emerged from above. Hans' eyes widened in shock and quickly created a barrier around himself.
-Bang!
The creature had dealt a heavy blow to the barrier, nearly destroying it. That hit was enough to send Hans flying downwards as he crashed in the ground below. Although his barrier had absorbed most of the damage, he still suffered minor injuries.
Finally getting the chance to see the beast's appearance, he recognized what it was at a glance.
'Golden-furred gorilla, a stage 8 beast. Its bloodline originates from the Tranquil Sea realm beast Golden Sovereign Gorilla. It's known for its stage-surprassing strength.
This would've been a bit troublesome if it weren't a dumbass.'
Although it had tremendous explosive strength, its defense is lacking , it would sustain significant injuries when falling down from such height. This made Hans even more puzzled.
'An injury of this kind could potentially lead to its dead due to being weaked, other beasts will surely take advantage of its vulnerability and kill it. Then why did it do it despite knowing? Just to keep me here?'
Sure enough, the sound of something heavy hitting the ground resonated through the area. From within, the Golden-furred gorilla emerged, visibly weakened, staring at Hans with intense killing intent.
Hans' focus however, was shifted to the side, where three other figures emerged., two in the seventh and one at the eight stage Broken Vessel realm.
'Nothing special about their bloodline, an alpha wolf and two underlings. They don't seem that strong, my main goal should be dealing with the gorilla.'
With that in mind, Hans quickly circulated mana to launch invisible air blades towards the Golden-furred gorilla. There were the same kind as the ones used against Luriel, just many times faster and deadlier.
Alerted by its instincts, the beast released a overbearing roar which send shockwaves towards the blades, slowing them down. It then swung its fist to destroy the now weakened blades.
Seeing Hans distracted, the wolves lunged at him at lightning speed, arriving next to him a moment after. Before they could do anything however, Hans send more blades in their direction.
Taken aback , the alpha wolf used mana to control its underlings, pulling them in front of it as they died in a flurry of slashed, with it only sustaining shallow cuts.
This came as a surprise to Hans. The alpha wolf would normally rather die than let those under it get injured, yet this one straight up used them as a shield?
The gorilla also used a tactic beasts would never think of on their own. These beast were capable of thinking instead of relying on instincts like most beasts do. Or were they?
A sudden thought occupied Hans' mind. This situation sounded familiar to certain things he'd seen back in the sect.
'A beast tamer, someone who is capable of controlling multiple beasts at the same time. If that's really the case, the situation might prove to be way more dire than I anticipated.'
A beast tamer was a cultivator who
specializes in enslaving beasts to fight for him. And a beast tamer who can control multiple high-stage Broken Vessel demonic beast
Is atleast in the Chaotic Harmony stage.
As he was thinking of the possibility, Hans felt danger from the back. Moving quickly, he used a destructive technique to burn the area arround him, successfully chasing away the attacker.
'Right… there were five of them. And this one in particular is very dangerous.'
Behind him, a giant eagle was staring at him with a dangerous look in its eyes. Another thing Hans noticed was tbat these beasts were bloodlusted, their killing intent directed at him only.
This more or less confirmed confirmed his theory about the beast tamer.
With the two weakest beasts dead, only the three 8th stage ones remained to fight. Since a human was most likely controlling them, it was a lot trickier to deal with them
so Hans was forced to use one of his trump cards, a technique that literally obliterates the surroundings until nothing remains. In essense, it was just a giant explosion with immense amount of mana inside it.
This brings us to the main issue. Would he have enough mana to handle the Chaotic Harmony realm cultivator after using it?
Normally, he'd take this into consideration and think of something else, but he knew otherwise.
He didn't need to have full capacity to deal with this opponent. Thanks to his vast knowledge about cultivation realms, Hans was well aware of it.
'Your superior cultivation will be the cause of your death!'
A bright red light shone in the middle of the half-burned battlefield, gradually enveloping the surrounding area, including the three beasts, until halting its expansion and condensing into a mana fireball the size of a human head, which was contantly shaking.
And then-
-Boom!

Shoutout to my phone for enduring hours of contant use. Current writing this chapter after using it basically the whole day and honestly idk how it hasn't turned off from the heat. This shit is running on my hopes and dreams (and possibly reversed cursed technique too).
Anyway bye bye since I still need sleep ig
