Chapter 21 - Flower Power.

"Was I too hard on them?"

Greg tossed the pink shirt that he was wearing a couple of episodes earlier up in the air and accompanying the blocky television device that he was viewing from, fizzled into pink and blue hues of energy respectively. The shifting walls that he was walking through led him into his office...

... where he already had a visitor waiting.

"Why, hello there! I see there are no theatrics today!"

ugh...

The figure could see the characteristic green message window open up before him, the white text donned across it, filling his view,

[The Ever-Changing Wave remains silent]

"..."

"... Anyway," the message board fizzed out, "... the place that you sent me to look at is quite... special," he passed over a brown book over to Greg, "they're based in the first bound, but with their abilities they seem to have the capabilities to migrate into the third or pushing it, the fourth bound, but I haven't yet been able to dig that much because someone...," "Wow! What a nice handwriting...," "...told me," "I should make you...," "... that they had," "...a teacher over here!" "... something 'big!' to tell me," "What do you think about it, eh? wink, wink! "

"No thanks, you already have a devil who writes better than I do," Greg tied up the dark lace woven across the book into a neat knot, "but he rarely even gets out of his office, even after he realized what his... oh wait, their kind, kind of like it, don't they?"

"..."

"Right, Big thing I wanted to tell you!"

"Mmhmm...,"

"So, you might be working with, one, a wonderful guy we're looking into, two, some people I was toying with while looking at my show,"

"What?"

"AND! Final but not the least, three, a weird baby!"

"... still, what?"

"And one more final, final thing, Watch out...!"

"?"

"... they come in threes... Hah, I really wanted to say it, and it feels so good that I have finally said it."

"..."

"...?"

Was he ever like that before?

"Your husband was definitely not able to do that before..."

I'M SO SORRY, I ALMOST LEFT YOU BEHIND!

He shuddered at the thought of it, though he understood why his friend had such passion, it was even more so painful to know that he would be torn apart by all these "sharks" at sea because of it. He slid out of the commenter's view easily as he was still hooked onto his friend's performance and hurriedly walked off to the one place he could get some peace of mind, because that was basically it's entire M.O,

"Huh, where did he go?"

"..."

The spectators swiftly shifted their gaze to Seiza, the performer's friend who was already aware of the earthen break forming right before him. Thankfully blessed by the wind attribute, he made a quick dash for it. A quick beautiful leap backed up by the determination to escape from what would have been a horrible event but behold, the spectators didn't like this ending, the speed that he verily believed in was now up against a new fierce contender,

"You're new to this, aren't you?"

It was out of earshot, but what wasn't,

"AAH!"

Was the ring of thorns that were greedily boring their yellow fangs into his ankle. The unimaginable pain sucked all the strength away from the loosely trained body of dear Seiza. This, in turn, made the work of the vine behind him much easier as it hurled the suspended boy into the earth below him.

The aggressors walked out into the open, revealing their pleased faces to their very own masterpiece before them, who was trying to get his bearings after having the wind knocked out of him.

"Where are you?? Your wife's hurt...!!"

Quick, almost soundless and as if bearing a grudge, rigid spikes of rock held one of the aggressor's arms in place as he reached in, to nudge the leader. The army of goons behind them also suffered similar fates, the piercings ranging from mere limbs to graver injuries, but most of the effort as clearly seen by the stunned onlookers was aimed at Brock, the one who launched the attack, but his large set build amazingly dodged the numerous attacks that gunned for him by a hair's breadth and he could still feel many more below him still tugging at the emerald barrier he had set right beneath the soil that his very feet stood upon.

"This is going to be good," one said as the brawl continued. The red-haired boy who was captured by the spikes right next to Brock's side transformed his afflicted arm into a red clawed monstrosity, the flashy mix of purple and yellow blaze eating through his uniform's left sleeve. The section of earth that went through his arm boiled off as it failed to withstand the soaring high temperatures within him. The punctures healed and now Baxter was geared up and ready to make someone regret their very own existence.

Brock could faintly see it; others could sense it. Beads of sweat formed around the onlookers in the immediate vicinity; and it was still rising; he saw the faint shades of orange and red becoming ever more vivid, a warning sign that the launch stage was nigh. Following his wits, he launched onto a tree safely rooted away from the blast area and in his place set in his substitute.

"!"

He smirked as the red, bloodthirsty cannon of doom descended, having generated enough charge it fell, even faster as Baxter saw the shocked face of Seiza which endlessly filled him with delight. The fierce, fiery aura whizzed through the wind and tore through the haphazardly conjured up half-barrier shielding the victim's torso.

Aluri, who was endlessly being forged in his skill through these quick moments of life and death, overclocked his brain, running through numerous ways that he could try to prevent a really horrible situation from occurring until he landed on it. Without a moment to spare, in breakneck speed, he willed the earth to allow his dear friend to sink through immediately toughening up the earth above Seiza to be stronger than the spikes he launched earlier,

Heh

Aluri still felt the vigor behind the fist, rage on, the minute the demonic hand finally made home to the improved earth that he left behind, their hideout immediately warned them to boot themselves out of there and so they did, Aluri and his magnificent brain once more did their charm and escaped the fiery region they were within. They dashed within the soil as though they were in light sand, gliding through and out of the fiery apocalypse behind them. As the burrowers made their way to safety, the second in line above were next on the chopping block as pillars of fire violently broke through, beautifully colored, sharp and dangerous. Chaos ensued as the students fled for safety, whilst in that same time interval, the selfish goons who were rallied up behind Baxter and Brock scampered for safety; every man for himself.

And as for those who were not able to free themselves from their prior shackles,

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!! IT BURNS!! AAAAAAAHH, MAKE IT STOOOPP!!"

they were not as lucky. Brock wafted away the unpleasant smell of scorched flesh from him. He continued to look on as Baxter made a dash for it; the fiend's amber-like cat eyes had homed in, on the heat that their bodies expired while in transit. The rocket like pockets of flames beneath his feet and hands increased in intensity as he got ever closer, ripping through the wind like never before. Riding this momentum, Baxter was about to land another charged attack until,

# What did she genuinely feed these kids? #

He saw a dark figure blitz in. Shortly confused by how he could definitely hear a voice speak to him from within his dome, he brushed it off and continued with his prior advance, boastful of his speed and unashamedly not in the slightest worried about an unforeseen casualty, he struck and in front of all who were present and still glued to the match, something impossible happened. Baxter couldn't believe it as his trajectory changed, the intruder, in a gentle breeze, hacked and willed his body to launch off the attack onto a different target.

A target who was already cloaking up his body in green, spiky growth. The collision was violent. A bright flash of light accompanied by a terrible, thunderous roar. The yellow spikes shooting off of Brock's defense landed on the unsuspecting bunch below and off into the nearby trees as guided by winding gusts of wind. Baxter and Brock carried away by the blast, landed squarely and somewhat guarded respectively.

 Monster...

#... you can come out! #

Aluri popped out at a safe distance, making sure all the energies present were before him. His head still encased in an earthen mold surveyed the aftermath of the battle through special pinhole-like eyes that he carved in. He afterwards, carefully brought himself and his friend Seiza back up to the surface.

"Hah, I almost died!"

And. That. Was. Awesome!!!
