[1 Week Later]
[Midoriya Household]
Chirp~, chirp~, chirp~
Bird chirping could be heard from outside the bedroom window, along with strands of light that seeped through into the dimly lit room. Those same lights fell onto the single bed of the single occupant of the room...
*Snore...*
...A still-sleeping occupant, that was. The green-haired young man was lost in his blissful slumber, unbothered by the morning rays dancing across his face—
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
"Onii-chan, are you awake yet?"
A few knocks, accompanied by the voice of a young woman, came from behind the bedroom door.
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
But the sleeping man... did not heed the call, still blissfully asleep.
"Sigh... still asleep," the young woman muttered, before she opened the door of the bedroom without the occupant's permission.
As she stepped into the room, the young woman promptly went for the curtain, pulling it wide open and letting the bright radiance of the sun flood the room...!
The young woman, Chisa, was already dressed in her black high school sailor uniform, ready for another day of school.
"Ugh...! Too bright..."
But... it could not be said the same for her older brother, who grunted as the light stung his eyes.
Izuku quickly shielded his face with his blanket... before resuming his dream without a care in the world.
Chisa, who bore witness to her brother's laziness, only let out an exasperated sigh.
"Onii-chan, wake up already. It's already morning."
She urged her brother... to no avail.
"Uhm... five more minutes..."
Another sigh escaped Chisa's lips as she palmed her face, contemplating whether she should even bother.
"...I know that you're confident about your entrance exam... but..."
Her brother was clearly starting his 'post-graduation lifestyle' phase, that usual moment when many last-year high school students—mostly the ones who think they've already secured their place—just decide to laze around.
And her brother was a prime example.
However, she didn't exactly approve of this lifestyle choice of his.
"You still haven't received any acceptance confirmation yet, so..."
Chisa raised her right hand, hovering it above his sleeping form...!
Her hand glowed with a faint, yet ethereal green aura... before that same aura enveloped the pillow and blanket her brother was using...
Along with his whole form as well...!
And then—
"Wake up already."
—She yanked her hand—!
"Whoah—!"
Izuku, along with his pillow and blanket, were thrown out of his bed like a sack of laundry, before—
THUD!
He hit the bedroom floor with a heavy thud...!
"O-ow..."
He groaned in pain, lying face down in a hapless sprawl.
"Damnit, Chisa...! Again...?!"
"Hmph."
His little sister just pouted, a small glare tugging at her lips.
"Izuku! Chisa! What's the ruckus up there?"
Their mother's voice drifted up from the floor below, concern lacing her tone.
"It's okay, Mom!" Chisa shouted back. "I'm just waking up Onii-chan."
"Ah~! Is that so?" Relief filled their mother's voice. "Then please tell your brother that breakfast is ready, okay?"
"Okay, Mom."
Izuku slowly pushed himself up from the floor, rubbing the sore spot where he'd landed, while lightly glaring at his sister.
"Ugh... seriously, couldn't you wake me up like a good little sister?"
"'Good little sister'?" Her eyebrow raised in mild annoyance. "Is me going through the trouble to wake you up not enough?"
"Of course not!" He jabbed an accusatory finger at Chisa, then clasped his hands together dramatically. "I expect a little bit of kindness, you know? Like—'Onii-chan~! Onii-chan~! Wake up, please~!'—Like that!"
He demonstrated with an overly cutesy voice and pose... only to be met with a deadpan face that clearly showed her disgust.
"No. Never. Not even on the coldest day in hell."
Chisa just let out an annoyed huff, clearly done with her brother's antics.
"You heard Mom, right? Breakfast's ready, so get up already, lazy bone."
With that, she turned on her heel and stormed out of his room, closing the door behind her with a soft thud.
Left alone, Izuku could only let out a small chuckle at his sister's cold attitude.
"Hehe... what a cold little sister I've got."
He shook his head in amusement, then stretched his arms above his head.
"Well... guess it's time to start the day."
And so, right there beside his bed, he dropped down and began his usual morning routine—100 sets of push-ups—
"Onii-chan!!!"
"Hmm?"
SLAM—!
The door to his room burst open—! The poor door slammed hard!
"Eh?"
"Onii-chan!!! It's here!"
"'It's here'?"
Izuku looked up from where he was prone—Chisa had burst through the door, her face filled with urgency...!
However, she wasn't the only one—!
"I-Izuku! It's here—!"
Following right behind his little sister was his mother, her face carrying the same urgency as Chisa's...!
Izuku could only stare, confused, at their shared excitement, but...
His eyes then landed on his mother's hand.
In her hand... she was holding an envelope—
One sealed with a familiar-looking wax insignia belonging to a certain prestigious institute—
"—A letter from U.A. University!"
"...Huh?"
< | X | >
Izuku sat at his study desk, letter in hand. He stared at the thick, official-looking envelope...
An envelope that most likely contained the result of his entrance exam.
He was alone, of course. He'd kicked out both his sister and even his mother.
Not because he was embarrassed, nor nervous about the idea of his family seeing the result. No.
Because... there was a note written on the envelope, specifically instructing that only he alone was permitted to view its contents.
"..."
He narrowed his eyes, wondering if this instruction had a deeper meaning... and his thoughts immediately flashed to the image of his (former) idol hero.
Eventually... he opened the envelope.
"...!"
A small disk device dropped out and landed on his desk with a light metallic clink, before suddenly activating—!
A large, projector-like hologram window burst forth from the disk—!
"What the...?"
And from within the floating window... appeared the unmistakable image of the man—the No. 1 Hero of Japan in his full glory—!
"All Might—?!"
"GOOD MORNING, YOUNG MAN!!!"
