In an instant, all the monsters within a hundred-meter radius of Ainz were reduced to nothing but black ashes and scattered wreckage, effortlessly swept away by a passing gust of wind.
At this moment, Sebastian also smiled faintly and said softly, "System, unleash Crossed Thanatos."
"As ordered." The system responded promptly, and enormous monsters were instantly teleported into the heart of the enemy army.
These were the Crossed Thanatos, powerful entities once summoned by the dwarf summoner, one of the Four Generals of the demon army. They are immune to conventional magic and physical attacks.
Sebastian had harnessed the power of the Great Tomb of Nazarick to capture such beings from the world of Cautious Hero. After extensive research, he succeeded in replicating and mass-producing them.
As the newly summoned monsters revealed themselves one after another, the opposing beasts launched their attacks immediately. Yet, their strikes had no effect whatsoever. Instead, the Reapers began to divide, their numbers multiplying rapidly.
Simultaneously, Sebastian's other allies surged forward, tearing through the enemy ranks with relentless ferocity.
Moments later, the defensive structures Sebastian had deliberately set to stand by roared to life. Machine-gun bunkers unleashed relentless torrents of bullets, tearing monsters into shredded flesh, while corrosive liquids erupted from traps, melting entire bodies in seconds.
"Damn it!" Hiten roared in frustration. His attacks had done nothing to Sebastian.
Worse, Sebastian appeared to completely ignore his presence, an insult that only fueled the pride of the two brothers, making them even more furious.
"What an arrogant guy!" Using a flywheel to maneuver, Hiten relentlessly struck at Sebastian.
When he realized that the lightning from his Lightning Strike Blade posed no threat, he abandoned his initial strategy and charged into close combat. His blade slashed again and again, each swing sharp enough to tear the air and unleash shrill sonic booms. Lightning danced violently along the blade's edge.
Yet even then, Sebastian remained unmoved. While attacking, he casually spared a hand to obliterate more monsters on the battlefield. To Hiten, this felt like mockery. He no longer cared what was happening elsewhere; his sole focus was Sebastian.
"Attack together!" he shouted, glancing at his brother, Manten, who was already breathing heavily. Despite unleashing attack after attack on Sebastian, none left even a scratch.
With a determined cry, Hiten raised his lightning blade and charged forward.
Hearing his brother's cry, Manten hesitated for only a moment before urging his demon cloud to advance, fist descending like a falling meteorite.
But before either brother could reach Sebastian, a strange aura surged from Sebastian's body, like a silent gust of wind. Suddenly, the Thunder Beast Brothers felt death itself envelop them. In that life-and-death moment, they frantically halted their attacks and tried to retreat.
"Mahapdama." In a flash, Sebastian was already standing in their escape path.
"How, how is this possible?" They couldn't comprehend it. Time itself seemed to have vanished.
A sudden wave of agony tore through their bodies, and the brothers collapsed before they even realized what had happened. Only then did they notice their limbs had been severed. Sebastian had never even drawn a blade.
"W-what… happened…" Blood poured from their wounds as their consciousness waned.
Sebastian, having already dispersed his malevolent aura, smiled calmly at them. "Don't worry. I've spared your lives, for now. You still have your uses."
Sebastian intended to use the Thunder Beast Brothers as experimental subjects. Their weapons, too, held immense research value.
Far away, atop a high mountain outside the G.D.I.'s borders,
"Good thing I didn't rush in recklessly like those fools…" Standing on a massive boulder, Jaken stroked the short beard on his chin, watching Sebastian and his troops dominate the battlefield. Even he couldn't help but be stunned.
He silently thanked his own caution. Had he followed the crowd earlier, he would have been caught in Sebastian's massacre.
Sebastian and his subordinates possessed terrifying strength, effortlessly crushing an army of one hundred thousand monsters. From Jaken's perspective, Sebastian was undoubtedly the strongest among all humans he had encountered; no one else was even close, less than half his level.
"It's no wonder Inuyasha fell into Sebastian's grasp."
As he observed the smoke-filled battlefield and listened to the shrieks of monsters being torn apart, he recalled the moment he first arrived at the G.D.I. and picked up Inuyasha's scent.
Following the trail, he eventually found Inuyasha serving as a guard. Seeing the mighty Inuyasha reduced to such a miserable state had nearly made him laugh aloud. Though he hadn't seen Inuyasha again recently, that humiliating scene still made him chuckle.
But now, he could no longer laugh. Sebastian's power was far beyond anything he had imagined. Even the nature of those skeletal soldiers and strange structures was incomprehensible. He had initially thought Sebastian stayed to fight out of arrogance or recklessness, but now he understood, the man simply had absolute confidence.
From the relaxed smile on Sebastian's face, he could tell that this entire monstrous army was nothing more than a swarm of weaklings in his eyes. To Sebastian, this wasn't a real battle; it was merely a warm-up.
"What… what kind of power does this guy possess…" Jaken swallowed hard. "What kind of being is capable of this…"
A cold shiver ran down his spine. Why did such a terrifying entity exist in the world?
