Chapter 232 - Chapter : 228 : Deterring All Monsters

In the end, these monsters from different lands and factions decided to set aside their differences and unite under one banner. Together, they formed a massive coalition, marching toward the goal of seizing the estate. Afterward, they would inevitably argue over how to divide the Jewel of the Four Souls, each harboring their own hidden ambitions. But that could only happen after Sebastian's defeat.

The most urgent task before them was clear: eliminate Sebastian first.

This entire situation had unfolded due to the arrival of two fearsome newcomers, monsters known as the Thunder Beast Brothers, hailing from the Thunder Beast Clan.

Unlike the cautious majority, the elder of the Thunder Beast Brothers, Hiten, wasted no time launching an attack the moment they entered G.D.I. territory.

At first, many monsters hesitated, preferring to observe from the shadows. Yet, fearing the Thunder Beast Brothers would seize all the glory, they grit their teeth and followed when the brothers charged toward the G.D.I. control city. They knew well the power of those brothers.

As more and more monsters joined, even those terrified of Sebastian's military gained false courage at the sight of such overwhelming numbers. Like a raging sandstorm, they advanced together.

Then, suddenly, an eerie, murderous aura spread across the battlefield.

Monsters, with senses sharper than humans or beasts, froze under the suffocating chill that swept through the air. Every cell in their bodies screamed in alarm, forcing them to halt instinctively.

Without warning, the entire army came to an abrupt stop. Those behind couldn't react in time, crashing forward, screams, crunching bones, and chaos filled the ranks as countless monsters were trampled into pulp beneath their own kind.

And then… a figure appeared before them out of thin air. Sebastian.

The very sight of him shattered the fragile unity of their monstrous horde. The aura that had bound them together moments ago vanished like smoke in the wind. He stood alone, calm and unhurried, as if their numbers meant nothing.

"Since you've come all this way to my base," Sebastian said, his voice carrying through the storm, "I trust you're prepared to die well."

Facing the army of thousands, Sebastian's lips curved into a faint, almost amused smile.

"You're Sebastian?" Hiten narrowed his eyes, studying the man before him with keen curiosity.

He and his brother Manten had arrived late to G.D.I., knowing Sebastian only from whispered tales among monsters, but never meeting him in person. Though Hiten possessed great confidence in his own strength, something about this man made doubt stir within him. Even standing still, Sebastian exuded a crushing pressure. He felt less like a human being and more like a force of nature itself.

Though he had never seen Sebastian before, the moment their eyes met, he knew this was no ordinary opponent. The air itself trembled around him.

Sebastian regarded them quietly, smiling faintly, as if studying a colony of ants.

The disdain in that look made his temper flare. Without another word, he unleashed an attack, his lightning blade descending with a roar. Dark clouds surged above as he drew a massive violet bolt from the heavens, tethered to his weapon like a kite stringed by thunder.

The lightning, thick as a tree trunk, tore across the sky, searing the air as it hurtled toward Sebastian. Rain vaporized midfall, the sudden burst of steam twisting the very air. Dust burned into cinders. The thunder beam resembled a serpentine dragon with fangs bared, roaring as it lunged toward its target.

But Sebastian didn't move.

"7th-Tier Magic, Thunder Dragon." He raised a single finger, and a colossal lightning bolt crashed down from the sky.

This was the high-tier spell Sebastian had learned from Ainz, a spell of terrifying, destructive power.

The thunder conjured by Hiten was instantly torn apart, split in two by Sebastian's own lightning before fading into nothingness, leaving only flickering remnants in the storm. Hiten's devastating strike hadn't even ruffled Sebastian's hair.

Manten stared, dumbfounded. His brother's attack, something few could endure, had done nothing.

Outraged, he opened his jaws wide and spat forth a crimson bolt of lightning. It streaked across the sky, bursting into dozens of crimson beasts formed of thunder and rage. Their roars shook the clouds and split the air for miles around.

In mere seconds, hundreds of thunder beasts materialized, their combined energy so immense that the monsters below could barely breathe under the crushing pressure.

"It seems Sir Sebastian has already joined the battle," said Miroku, opening his eyes from meditation before the Battle Lab.

Beside him, Miyatsu also stirred, both rising to their feet.

Outside, Inuyasha was already waiting, rain running down his blade as he turned toward them.

Miroku clutched a pitch-black strand of prayer beads, his usual lecherous grin replaced with grim resolve. Even his smooth forehead was furrowed as he sensed the vast demonic energy closing in from every direction.

"The time has come," he murmured, eyes hard with purpose. He and Miyatsu had banished countless demons before, but never anything like this.

"It's time to join the fight, brothers," Inuyasha said with a confident grin. "How about a little contest, see who kills the most monsters?"

Monk Miyatsu smiled, pride flickering in his eyes. "Heh, you're on. It's not every day I get to fight alongside him."

He turned toward Miroku, smirking provocatively. "You dare?"

"Why wouldn't I?" Miroku shot back, cracking a smile.
