as the world turns gray
all the stars disappeared last night
the letters were scattered and lost their light
the penguin has been fine after its partner faded away
and the male fox has found another, unlike what they say
when the castle was washed away by the wave
the peasants thought the king would come and they'd be saved
but no shadow showed up, and all were left alone
alongside the hopes and vows that were set in stone
each lamp was devoured by the blinding darkness
all the cards and pledges have turned into emptiness
the song was not heard as it was ought to be
the crows did not care when the old man threw at their tree
