Chapter 568 - Chapter 568: Hestia: Single? Am I Eating Your Rice? Hmph!

"Sigh!"

Yama looked at her aunt and let out a long, exasperated sigh, as if all her thoughts and feelings could only be condensed into this single sound.

Of course, she understood that her aunt meant well. But the way Hestia had spread the news, it now seemed like Yama had deliberately publicized her mission, as if she were trying to become a celebrity. The problem was, Yama had absolutely no such intention!

"This is just…" Yama shook her head.

"Hahaha~~~"

Hestia, on the other hand, grinned mischievously, showing no remorse.

It seemed the matter was left at that, with no real resolution.

Time passed quickly.

"Your Majesty!"

"My Queen!"

"Princess!"

Eris arrived in the Pure Land of Bliss, bowing respectfully. Her eyes glimmered with unwavering reverence.

Persephone smiled warmly and said, "Eris, from here on out, we'll be relying on you."

Eris' expression turned serious as she said, "My Queen, I will absolutely ensure the Princess' safety. I won't let her suffer any harm!"

"That won't be necessary," Persephone said gently, shaking her head. "This time, your task is only to explore and confirm the situation. If the Princess can integrate into the Japanese Pantheon Mythological World, there's no need for any drastic measures. Even if the Creator God of that world has concerns about Hell's involvement, they won't be able to act on them."

The Japanese Pantheon Mythological World was inherently incomplete without the concept of Hell. Even though it had structures like Yomi and the Astral Realm, you couldn't replace an ocean with a dark sea, could you?

Anyone who understood these things would know what this meant.

And so.

This fact was undeniable. It was certain and unchangeable.

Hades spoke calmly, "Little Yama, Eris, take your time with this task. There's no need to rush, and no need to feel anxious. For us, time isn't a concern. Remember, your top priority is ensuring your safety."

Hades' voice was soft but resolute, reflecting his consistent philosophy.

Whether it was exploration or strategy.

For the Underworld, all that mattered was to proceed steadily. There was never any need for haste.

Thus.

Rushing was unnecessary. The Underworld needed only to advance step by step, ensuring a steady pace. This approach was central to everything Hades valued.

Hades was calm about it. Even if this attempt failed, there would always be a next one.

As he often said:

In the grand passage of time.

The Underworld had already moved past its most desperate phase. Now, all it needed to do was move forward gradually. Step by step. There was no need to gamble or risk it all.

As for taking risks?

Sorry, but that was no longer necessary for the Underworld. Of course, if the time ever came when a gamble was unavoidable, the Underworld wouldn't hesitate to act decisively.

This was the core of the matter. For the Underworld, this steady and composed mindset was everything.

For this reason.

Hades demanded safety in every action his gods undertook.

For the deities of the Underworld, this commitment was mutual. Their loyalty was absolute. Why? It was precisely because of this dynamic. For them, there was an unshakable sense of security in knowing their King always had their backs.

After all.

Whenever they ventured beyond the Underworld, their King would provide unwavering protection. With that assurance, why wouldn't they remain loyal?

As gods of the Underworld, they knew their King truly cared about them.

This was the foundation!

This was the truth!

Hades' genuine care for his subordinates was repaid with their unwavering loyalty.

This reciprocal relationship stood in stark contrast to Zeus' infamous betrayals.

Uh…

Zeus' actions were a whole other level of ridiculous. When someone placed their trust in you, when they handed over their very divine essence to you, what was there to doubt?

Doubting them? That's what created problems in the first place.

The issue of Abel and the prophecy?

Sure, the prophecy had pointed to Abel as a potential threat to Zeus. But this wasn't an unsolvable problem. All of it could have been dealt with. If it could be handled, why fail to act rationally?

Clearly!

Anyone with common sense would understand this. For Zeus, his downfall was entirely his own doing. Hades, on the other hand, would never repeat such mistakes.

Hades knew how to be ruthless when necessary. But when it wasn't, he could approach matters with calm rationality. Trust, once established, was more than enough.

Take Erebus and Nyx.

In the past, they hadn't even been Hades' subordinates—they had simply moved into the Underworld.

And yet!

Hades didn't mind at all. Did anyone seriously believe that these two Ancient Gods would try to harm him? Obviously not! That was completely out of the question.

For Erebus and Nyx, harming Hades wouldn't bring them any benefits. Why would they do it? It didn't make sense.

Thus.

Hades understood perfectly well. While a little caution was healthy, excessive paranoia only created real problems. That wasn't a good thing. In fact, it was a major issue.

This truth applied to Hades and to any God-King.

Hades understood this deeply and acted accordingly. This principle was paramount.

This clarity of thought.

It was the foundation of his composed and steady approach. Once you entrusted someone with a task, trust them to see it through.

"Alright."

Hades pulled his thoughts back and spoke calmly. "It's time. Let the journey begin. Little Yama, do your best."

As a father, he smiled warmly at his daughter.

"Mm!"

Yama nodded firmly. With the opening of the Crystal Wall Gate, Yama and Eris stepped through into the unknown.

In truth.

Eris had noticed that ever since the Princess' birth, her King had grown more emotionally complete. He was now more like an ordinary person, experiencing joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness in a fuller way.

Though.

At many times, the King still appeared as calm and wise as ever. That was simply his character—an intrinsic quality that wouldn't change. It wasn't strange.

This was also why every deity in the Underworld genuinely respected the Princess. It wasn't just because of her noble lineage.

It was because!

Through the Princess, their King had undergone a significant transformation, becoming more complete, more human in his emotions. This was a good thing.

In many stories, novels, and myths.

Why do humans often surpass gods?

The reason is simple. Gods lack emotional complexity, while humans experience a full range of emotions.

This emotional completeness was an advantage.

This wasn't a weakness!

In fact.

It was a strength—one of the greatest strengths. A god with rich emotions was more balanced and stable, better equipped for the challenges of divinity.

For the Underworld.

The King's emotional growth symbolized peace and stability.

"Phew~~~"

After Yama and Eris departed, Persephone exhaled deeply and shook her head. She murmured, "Even though I've anticipated this moment, I can't help but worry about how things will unfold."

Persephone shook her head, her expression softening with a maternal smile. Like any mother, even though her children were ready, she couldn't help but worry about the future.

But!

When the moment came, hesitation and uncertainty were inevitable. What would happen next? What awaited her daughter on this journey?

For Persephone.

These were natural thoughts for any mother.

"Hahaha~~~"

Hestia, always the joker, chuckled. "Sister-in-law! Don't worry too much. It's normal for mothers to worry about their children. That's just how it is."

"But!"

"It's best not to show it. Once a child decides to venture out, we as elders should show confidence. Otherwise, it might do more harm than good."

Hestia spoke with an air of wisdom, as if she had mastered the role of the all-knowing elder.

"…"

Persephone looked at her sister-in-law and couldn't help but laugh softly. There was a hint of amusement in her smile.

Hades, however, calmly remarked, "Elder sister, to my knowledge, you've never had a partner. Haven't you been single since birth?"

Hades' tone was calm and measured, but the words cut deeply.

In an instant.

"…"

Hestia froze, her face stiffening. She stared blankly at her brother and sister-in-law. After a moment of silence, she stood up and left without a word.

Fine!

Fine!

You two are teaming up on me as a couple? I can't win against that. I'll just leave!

Hmph!

Though Hestia said nothing, she really had no interest in finding a partner. To her, it was unnecessary.

Frankly.

Men?

She considered them useless. While romantic relationships were a common trope in the Greek Pantheon, she simply didn't see the point.

Her reasoning?

If she were to marry someone weaker than her brother, wouldn't that be embarrassing?

For this reason!

Hestia had completely abandoned the idea of finding a partner. It held no appeal to her.

As for being single?

Hmph!

What's wrong with being single? Is it costing you anything?

Seriously!

She liked being single. It felt freeing and enjoyable.

What does it matter to you?

This is my life, not yours!

Hmph!

H

estia left in a huff, grumbling to herself. She preferred her fictional husbands anyway. The cold reality of the world offered no comfort—only her paper-thin loves could bring her solace.

This world was far too cold!

And so.

Hestia stormed off, leaving Hades and Persephone smiling behind her. They shook their heads in unison.

Hades and Persephone shared a quiet moment of amusement. Their elder sister's personality, at times as childish as a little girl's, never ceased to entertain them.

In truth.

Teasing Hestia was far more entertaining than teasing their mature, responsible daughter.

In this, the couple found a shared hobby—one that perfectly suited their dynamic. Truly, they were a perfect match.
