This was an unforeseen outcome.
The situation had shifted unexpectedly, though whether the change was significant was hard to say. For Eros, this turn of events was unimaginable, a scenario that not even in his wildest dreams could he have predicted.
Regarding divine power and essence: these are not things that can be absorbed at will without consequence.
Hades himself, when integrating the divine power of Tartarus, had relied on the conjunction of the Doom Star, the Golden Apple, and the World Chains. Even with these tools, he painstakingly purified the energy countless times before slowly absorbing it to achieve his breakthrough to the level of the Ancient Gods.
Similarly, Poseidon absorbed the power of Pontus, the Black Sea God, only after neutralizing it with the energies of the Eldritch Gods.
The lesson was clear: divine power, especially that of another god, was never something that could be absorbed recklessly.
Attempting to do so without proper preparation would only lead to one result—destruction. The incompatibility between the divine essence of different gods would inevitably cause the absorber to implode.
Even Eldritch Gods, known for their insatiable consumption, devoured worlds rather than absorbing divine power directly. To do otherwise would be pure folly.
This was a fundamental rule of existence.
When Hades absorbed the power of Tartarus, the shared affinity of their dominions—the Underworld and Death—made the process feasible, albeit still requiring careful methods. The same principle applied to Poseidon and Pontus.
However, Eros' divine power did not share such compatibility with the emergent entity of human evil known as Desire.
Eros' essence, scattered across the Mythic World, was inherently difficult for most beings to absorb. If it were so easy, why would any entity bother with arduous training or painstaking cultivation? The mere presence of such unclaimed power should have resulted in countless gods trying to seize it.
But the truth was simple: it could not be absorbed without devastating consequences.
And yet, in the creation of Desire, this divine power of Eros was drawn in, intertwined with the essence of Love and Desire. The result was something extraordinary.
This was not a situation that even Eros himself could have anticipated.
Hades, observing the process, did not intervene further. He allowed the cascading divine power of Eros to continue flowing into the nascent entity. The corridor of human history swirled with energy as the human evil absorbed it all, fusing it into its core.
"This power," Hades mused, "is transformative. Originally, Desire should have emerged with the strength of a God-King. But now, after absorbing Eros' essence, it may rise to the level of the Ancient Gods."
He watched silently as the human evil underwent further changes.
The figure forming amidst the confluence of energies was unlike anything before. Divine power swirled in torrents, coalescing into a humanoid shape.
Finally, a figure stepped forth.
It was a woman with flowing, cosmic hair that shimmered like the stars themselves. Her eyes opened slowly, carrying a playful glint. A smile graced her lips, her demeanor exuding both allure and dominance.
"Your Majesty," she said softly, her tone laced with charm.
Even her voice was dangerous. To an ordinary god, it would have been a death sentence, causing their essence to unravel instantly.
"Desire," Hades said calmly. "The embodiment of human evil. You have emerged as a dual entity."
He paused briefly, contemplating this unexpected result, but quickly accepted it as natural.
While human evil, Desire, was originally meant to manifest as a single being, the infusion of Eros' divine power had created a split. The result was a dual godhood, akin to the split entities of Charon and Charon's twin.
The woman before him represented Desire, the pure embodiment of humanity's attraction, temptation, and unrestrained longing. Her beauty was absolute, transcending mortal and divine comprehension. To gaze upon her was to witness perfection, unmarred by flaws.
However, for Hades, her beauty was meaningless. As the master of the Underworld and the arbiter of life and death, he was utterly immune to such superficialities.
"You will await the emergence of your other half," Hades said, his tone impassive.
"As you command, Your Majesty," she replied, her voice tinged with feigned helplessness.
Despite her coquettish demeanor, she offered no resistance. She reached into her chest and removed her divine core, offering it to Hades with deference.
Though her outward appearance was playful, she understood the terrifying authority of the one who had created her. Hades was not one to be swayed by charm or appearance. Any attempt to manipulate him would result in swift obliteration.
Hades accepted the divine core without hesitation.
"You shall be called Māra," he declared.
Māra bowed respectfully. "I humbly accept Your Majesty's gift."
Hades had chosen the name based on fragments of his ancient knowledge, drawn from fleeting memories of another time. Māra, the embodiment of temptation and desire, was a fitting name for this being.
As Māra stood silently, another figure began to materialize.
This new entity was starkly different. She had long black hair and large horns, her appearance resembling that of a demon rather than a god.
She stepped forward gracefully, her presence radiating serenity and love. Her expression was warm and kind, exuding a gentle aura that seemed to embrace all of existence.
"Greetings, Your Majesty," she said, her voice calm and soothing. "And to you as well, Sister."
"Ah, my dear sister," Māra said, her tone playful and laced with mischief. She observed the new arrival with interest, recognizing her as the other half of her being.
This second entity represented Love, the compassionate and nurturing counterpart to Māra's unbridled desire. Their dual existence was the result of Eros' divine power merging with the human evil during its formation.
"You shall be called Sesshōin Kihara," Hades announced, naming the second entity.
Kihara smiled gently. "Thank you, Your Majesty."
Though their origins lay in a single essence, Māra and Kihara now stood as distinct manifestations of Love and Desire, their shared existence bound by their origin and purpose.
Hades regarded the two calmly. For him, they were tools, nothing more. Yet, these tools had been refined to perfection.
The birth of Māra and Kihara marked a new chapter in the unfolding saga of the Mythic World.
