Chapter 524 - Chapter 524: Hades Enters Human History, The Collapse of the Heroic Era

"Uranus."

"Cronus."

"Hades."

"Poseidon."

"Athena."

"The gathering of five God-Kings—it's truly astonishing. Five beings who have completely broken free from the shackles of fate."

"Indeed!"

"Who could have imagined such a thing would happen?"

In the Mythic World, gods from all walks of life, in pairs or small groups, discussed the astonishing events unfolding before them.

After all, everything happening now was far too shocking, even for the gods. Who could have foreseen such an outcome?

To be honest, what was happening now was simply absurd.

Five God-Kings!

Five God-Kings, coexisting in the same era and gathering together—it was the height of absurdity.

As for the chaos currently engulfing the Mythic World?

Frankly speaking, most of the gods didn't care anymore. Whatever happened, happened. They neither had the ability nor the qualifications to change anything. Since things had already reached this point, they might as well let it all be.

At this stage, they had adopted a wholly indifferent attitude. What could they do about it anyway? They had no choice but to watch events unfold like passive spectators.

The idea of changing things?

Clearly, that was no longer realistic. Since change was impossible, they resigned themselves to the situation.

For them, it was as if the only option was to lie back and watch the spectacle. This was the attitude of most gods now. They had accepted that they could do nothing to influence events.

If it came down to life or death, then so be it.

Death was something everyone feared, but if there was no hope in sight, then dying wouldn't matter much. This fatalistic mindset had seeped into many gods' thoughts.

"Do whatever you want," they seemed to say. "What more could you do to me? If death is inevitable, so be it."

This was the prevailing sentiment among ordinary gods.

The saying "Better to live miserably than to die" didn't hold much weight for gods. For beings who had existed for countless eons, life and death had lost much of their significance.

For them, if there was no hope for survival, then living on to face inevitable destruction seemed meaningless. Why wait for death when it was already certain?

Hence, many had given up entirely, placing their hopes in the faint possibility of a future chance.

But deep down, they knew: the chances of such an opportunity arising were next to none. The cyclical wars that had defined the Mythic World had all but ceased, and no grand conflicts seemed likely to erupt again.

This was the harsh reality.

It was an unsolvable problem.

And so, they waited passively. The gods had little understanding of the changes taking place in the Chaos Sea. Even the God-Kings could only sense faint tremors, signaling some sort of opportunity on the horizon.

But for gods below the level of God-King, this was entirely unknown. They remained oblivious to the vast shifts stirring beyond their reach.

Elsewhere, Hades' chariot departed from the Heart of the Ocean, leaving the Sea Realm to travel through the Upper World.

As for sealing off the Sea Realm?

What a joke! The Mythic World was far too chaotic and fractured for anyone to muster the effort to impose such a restriction. Attempting to do so now would only invite greater turmoil.

In this state, the Mythic World was barely holding together. Trying to seal it would be like pouring fuel onto a fire, exacerbating the chaos.

"Your Majesty, should we return directly to the Underworld?" Pandora, driving the chariot, asked softly.

"Return to the Underworld," Hades replied calmly.

"Understood."

Without question, Pandora obeyed, steering the chariot back toward the Underworld. Though the Underworld had uprooted its physical presence from the far north, the gates of the Underworld still remained in their original location, serving as the link to the mortal cycle of life and death.

While the chariot journeyed, Hades silently vanished from within, reappearing elsewhere in the Upper World.

In the lands where humanity first arose during the Heroic Era, a shadowy figure materialized, gradually solidifying into the form of Hades himself. Cloaked in the divine power of his Helm of Darkness and strengthened by his trinity of divine garments, Hades now possessed an unmatched ability to conceal his presence.

Not even the current Mythic World, shattered as it was, could detect him.

Standing amidst the ruins of ancient humanity, Hades extended his power outward. A stream of divine energy spread across the landscape, seeping into the heart of the Mythic World.

Soon, a crack began to form before him.

Hades stepped through the fissure, knowing precisely what he had come to claim—the fully matured Desire, a seed of humanity's evil he had planted long ago.

Desire!

Hades had sown this seed during his dominion over the Greek Mythic World, allowing it to grow alongside humanity itself. Now, after countless years, it had fully ripened.

As Hades' divine energy flowed into the space, he immediately sensed a pull—a call summoning him to the essence of Desire. This presence, born of his own power, naturally recognized its creator.

Calmly, Hades advanced through the fissure. His expression remained indifferent, devoid of any emotional fluctuation.

In no time, the surroundings took shape.

The scene resembled a vast array of bubbles, each containing fragments of human history. These fragile bubbles depicted the collective memory of humanity's journey, from its humble beginnings to its meteoric rise.

But now, these bubbles were breaking apart, one by one.

Humanity's history was collapsing.

"The history of humanity is nearing its end," Hades remarked coldly, surveying the disarray around him with unshaken calm.

To him, none of this was unexpected.

In fact, it was all part of his plan.

Hades had orchestrated this collapse deliberately. By shattering the heroic legacy of humanity, he severed their evolutionary trajectory, halting their growth and stalling their potential.

This was no accident—it was a calculated blow.

Humanity, as a species, was defined by its cycles of destruction and rebirth. Each fall led to greater resilience, each annihilation to new heights. With each iteration, humanity grew stronger, accumulating knowledge and power.

But Hades sought to break that chain. By obliterating their heroic past, he rendered their potential inert, robbing them of the foundation they needed to ascend further.

This severing of potential was not just a setback; it was a mortal wound.

Even as he stood among the ruins of their history, Hades' gaze remained indifferent. All was proceeding exactly as he had foreseen.
