Chapter 522 - Chapter 522: Five God-Kings? In Reality, Still a Tripartite Balance

"..."

While the five God-Kings were conversing, an invisible ripple suddenly spread from beyond the mythical world.

In just an instant, all five God-Kings sensed it.

Although ordinary gods could not perceive this unique fluctuation, to these five, it was as clear as if it had exploded right beside them.

At this moment, the five God-Kings fell into silence.

Because the Sea of Chaos had changed.

This...

The expressions of the five God-Kings grew solemn. They all understood the significance of this change: the Sea of Chaos, which had remained calm for countless eons, was now undergoing a profound transformation.

But was this change a blessing or a curse?

No one knew.

However, the God-Kings understood that whatever was happening in the Sea of Chaos represented an unparalleled opportunity—for all mythical worlds, minor worlds, gods, humans, and other races alike.

This was a rare chance for growth. For any god, from lesser beings to even the Ancient Gods and the Absolute Gods, this event was an unprecedented opportunity.

But what was happening in the Sea of Chaos?

No one knew.

Even the Absolute Gods, who were considered omniscient within the Sea of Chaos, could not grasp the changes taking place. This uncertainty was the very source of their fear.

When faced with the unknown, even Absolute Gods felt terror. The fact that even their omnipotence could not comprehend the phenomenon underscored how unprecedented and ominous this change was.

"..."

After a long silence, Uranus smiled faintly and said softly, "It seems something fascinating is happening. At the very least, a significant upheaval is brewing within the Sea of Chaos."

"This is certain," he continued. "But... what exactly could it be?"

Kronos narrowed his eyes slightly, pondering what might be unfolding in the Sea of Chaos.

Yet no matter how much he thought about it, the answer eluded him.

Even the Absolute Gods couldn't fully comprehend the chaos. For someone like Kronos, it was entirely futile to try.

The unknown was simply unknowable.

However, one thing was clear to all the gods who had a faint understanding of the Sea of Chaos: this was an opportunity—a chance to grow stronger, perhaps even to transcend the Absolute God realm itself.

Why did they understand this? No one knew.

It was as though the moment the chaos rippled, the knowledge appeared in their minds as an innate truth.

This paradoxical certainty was what made it all the more intriguing.

For a brief moment, the God-Kings seemed to disregard the turbulence in the Sea of Chaos, resuming their casual conversation.

Before long, Uranus left. He had no intention of wasting more time here. He needed to consolidate the remnants of Boros's power and organize his forces. While he was capable of fighting alone, he had numerous tasks to manage, and doing everything himself would only slow him down.

After Uranus departed, Kronos followed suit.

With Rhea accompanying him, Kronos also had many matters to address. The Twelve Titans of his pantheon required his attention and preparation for the challenges ahead.

With the departure of these two God-Kings, calm returned to the Heart of the Ocean.

Now, Hades, Poseidon, and Athena remained seated in a triangular arrangement, each lost in silent contemplation.

"..."

Pandora, holding a wine glass, stood quietly nearby without speaking a word.

Her expression was serene, as if nothing happening here mattered to her in the slightest.

The reason for the departure of Uranus and Kronos was simple.

Five God-Kings?

No.

Despite appearances, the current era still operated under a tripartite balance of power.

Hades, Poseidon, and Athena.

These three had surpassed Uranus and Kronos in divine power.

The first and second-generation God-Kings couldn't accept this disparity. Their departures signified more than a need to handle pressing affairs—they needed to prepare themselves. They wouldn't squander the opportunity that lay ahead.

To fall behind their successors was unacceptable.

For Kronos, once an invincible Titan God-King, this was intolerable.

For Uranus, born as an Ancient God and the first God-King, it was no different.

Now they found themselves the weakest among the God-Kings—a bitter pill to swallow.

Thus, the two departed, leaving the remaining three to continue their discourse.

Pandora could clearly see that the next conversation would focus on the true core of the matter.

It wasn't about excluding Uranus and Kronos because of their lineage; it was simply that the weak had no right to participate in such discussions.

Hades, Poseidon, and Athena were all exceptional in their own ways.

Hades had forged a unique path, cultivating his divine kingdom to unprecedented heights. With each step, he grew increasingly formidable, reaching realms beyond imagination.

Poseidon, on the other hand, had merged the power of a god with that of an evil deity, creating a distinct and unprecedented path for himself. While potentially more perilous than Hades's route, his innovation was unmatched. The future of his journey remained uncertain, but his first challenge was survival itself.

Athena, endowed with the blessings of Metis and Gaia, had fully awakened her Earth Mother God status, embodying the triad of Darkness, Earth, and Serpent-Dragon.

Three God-Kings, three unique paths.

These were the reasons they had transcended the constraints of the mythical world, achieving their current heights.

"Hehehe~~~"

Poseidon sipped his wine, his gaze calm as he remarked, "Just as I expected. Or rather, everything is proceeding as predicted."

Looking at Hades and Athena, he continued, "In the end, only you two remain here with me. As for Uranus and Kronos..."

"Hehe~~~"

Poseidon chuckled lightly, his amusement revealing his disdain for the so-called Sky God and Space God, despite them being his father and grandfather.

After all, gods cared little for familial bonds. They were cold and indifferent by nature, rarely swayed by sentiment.

"..."

Athena remained silent, quietly listening to Poseidon.

Hades finally broke his silence, saying, "Poseidon, you know as well as I do that within the mythical world, no god can currently restrain you. But what about when you leave it?"

"Leave the mythical world?" Poseidon murmured, contemplating the question.

Undeniably, Poseidon understood this point.

Within the Greek pantheon's mythical realm, he could thrive. But beyond its boundaries?

That was a different story entirely.

Outside the mythical world, Poseidon would face opposition from both gods and evil deities. His uniqueness made him a threat to all.

He knew this better than anyone.

"Hehehe~~~"

After a brief silence, Poseidon chuckled lightly and said, "Hades, there's no need to dwell on such matters. When I embarked on this path, I already understood its risks and rewards."

"My only choice is to press forward. The turbulence in the Sea of Chaos proves that significant changes are imminent."

He paused, his gaze sharp and resolute. "Retreat? No. I have no such luxury. I must prepare for what lies ahead, even if it leads to death. I've come too far to turn back now."

Hades listened quietly, offering a faint nod. He had no intention of intervening, merely asking out of curiosity.

Turning his gaze to Athena, Poseidon remarked, "Athena, you're still missing a crucial piece, aren't you?"

Athena replied without hesitation, her tone calm. "Indeed. Darkness and Earth are solidified, but the Serpent-Dragon aspect remains incomplete. I still need to find its essence."

Poseidon smiled faintly, intrigued. "Hades, Athena, you're both only one step away from reaching the next realm, aren't you?"

"Yes," Hades replied simply, with Athena nodding in agreement.

Poseidon chuckled. "Compared to Hades, I didn't expect you to surpass me, Athena. But strength is strength, and it's something one must accept."

Still, his tone grew contemplative. "The true intrigue lies in what the future holds. While I'm curious about your paths, I'm equally eager to see where mine will lead."

Poseidon's smile grew increasingly wicked, his aura exuding a strange and eerie charm.

Despite this, both Hades and Athena could discern that Poseidon remained in control. His mastery over the power of the evil god was undeniable, and he had yet to be consumed by it.

For now, he was walking his chosen path, firmly and confidently.
