"A new God-King?"
"What?"
Tartarus stared at Gaia's calm expression, feeling an overwhelming sense of shock and disbelief. He could tell that Gaia wasn't joking.
Could such a thing truly be possible?
Uranus, Cronus, Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, Abel, and Athena.
Seven God-Kings!
Uranus, Cronus, and Abel.
These three God-Kings represented the ancient, golden, and silver ages of the gods, respectively.
As for the next era?
That belonged to humanity!
Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, and Athena.
These four God-Kings represented the rulers of the underworld, the sea, the heavens, and the earth.
It was clear.
The seven God-Kings weren't chosen arbitrarily. One couldn't just become a God-King by simply achieving enough power. If that were the case, or if it were so easy, the title of God-King would lose its meaning.
Precisely because of this.
Even though some gods had the potential to evolve into God-Kings, Tartarus, being an Ancient God, knew that there were indeed gods who, through a combination of circumstances, became God-Kings. These cases existed and were normal.
However!
For Gaia to now claim she intended to create a new God-King? This wasn't just about reaching the level of power needed to be a God-King. It was about gaining the status and qualifications that came with it, something that seemed utterly impossible!
"That's impossible," Tartarus shook his head and said directly. "Gaia, I understand what you're thinking. But! Even with your status and combining my divine power, it would still be impossible to create a brand new God-King."
"The essence of a God-King is the core of everything. Without that essence, it's simply not possible."
"Who says we don't have it?"
Gaia's calm response sent a chill through Tartarus, filling him with fear.
There could only be seven God-Kings!
And!
Athena had not yet been born. Although Abel had emerged, as the fourth-generation God-King and the favored child of the Mythical World, he was untouchable.
Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus were the central figures of this era, and they were similarly invulnerable.
As for Uranus?
Uranus, as an Ancient God, represented a fundamental part of the Mythical World, symbolizing the sky. Just like Tartarus represented the underworld, Uranus might be bound, but he was still immovable.
"Are you planning to act against Cronus?" Tartarus speculated, proposing the most likely scenario.
In his view, this was the most feasible option. If Gaia wanted to extract the essence of a God-King, Cronus was her only option.
However!
Would Gaia really do such a thing?
Everyone knew!
Gaia loved her children dearly. There was no doubt about it. Tartarus was well aware of the depth of Gaia's affection for her children.
Compared to her other offspring, like the hundred-armed giants or the Cyclops, to whom she merely granted divine artifacts or power, Gaia treated the Twelve Titans very differently. She especially doted on Cronus, showering him with endless love.
It could be said without exaggeration!
In Gaia's heart, Cronus was more important than anyone else. Was Gaia truly willing to sacrifice her own child for her ambitions?
Tartarus watched Gaia, a faint smile of amusement forming on his lips. He was curious to see what choice she would make.
But!
Gaia, having noticed Tartarus's thoughts, remained calm, her voice gentle yet firm. "I have no intention of harming Cronus. Let that child rest peacefully. When it's time for him to recover, he will, but now is not the time."
"Mm."
Tartarus nodded. Gaia didn't seem to have any plans to act against Cronus.
However!
Tartarus asked with curiosity, "Then who are you going to act against? You should know very well that without the essence of a God-King, creating a new one is impossible."
"Hades?"
"Impossible!"
"Hades is too powerful, and besides, Erebus and Nyx would fight to the death. They would never allow the opportunity they've waited for to be destroyed by you."
"Besides that…"
"Poseidon, Zeus, and Abel?"
Tartarus looked at Gaia, knowing more about Hades but less about Poseidon, Zeus, and Abel. He was curious to hear what Gaia had in mind.
"Prometheus."
Gaia calmly said, "I have a connection with Prometheus, and he will help me seize the God-King essence from Zeus. With that essence, everything else will be much easier to handle."
"Mm?"
Tartarus frowned slightly. "That won't be easy. Zeus is the chosen one of this era, and taking his essence is nearly impossible. The Mythical World itself wouldn't allow it."
"I know that," Gaia said, her voice still calm. "But you're forgetting one thing. Zeus and Abel are father and son, and their fates are intertwined. Once Abel replaces Zeus, everything will become much simpler."
"I see!"
Tartarus immediately understood.
Gaia's plan was simple: let Abel replace Zeus as the ruler of the heavens. As the fourth-generation God-King, representing the silver age, Abel had the qualifications. At that point, Gaia would take Zeus's God-King essence and use it to create a new God-King.
"Gaia!"
Tartarus's voice became serious. "Do you intend to overturn everything?"
Gaia's voice, filled with indifference, responded, "Since the Mythical World won't follow the path I desire, then I shall overturn everything myself."
Her voice was soft, but it carried the weight of terrifying ambition, cold and emotionless, like a demon from the depths of hell. Just hearing it sent chills down Tartarus's spine.
He could sense the true horror and boundless ambition that Gaia harbored.
