I spoke with the woman, and she wrote down on a document the exact amount I needed to pay for the two buildings. After taking the paper, I put it away and teleported near the library.
As soon as I approached, people noticed me and began gathering around.
"Look, it's Luan!"
"The author of Re:Zero is here! I'm such a big fan!"
"When will the next volume be released?"
Then I teleported to the meeting room to talk with Elma. When I arrived, Elma wasn't there, but another person was. It was an old man, well over sixty.
He was drinking tea and ended up spitting it out in my direction, but I managed to dodge it by stepping aside.
It's good to have such fast reflexes.
The man's eyes widened as he coughed. "Cough… Cough… How is this possible? Cough… Who are you? Cough… What are you doing here?"
"Who am I?" I tilted my head, confused. I thought everyone knew me, but apparently not.
"Ah, Luan!" Elma finally appeared. "What are you doing here? I already told you not to just show up out of nowhere. Look at this mess." She glanced worriedly at the old man, whose clothes and the floor were now stained.
She hurried over to grab a cloth so he could clean himself.
When the man finally wiped his mouth, he calmed down and looked at me sternly. "So your name is Luan. Who do you think you are barging in here? Don't you realize this is a highly private place? An employee shouldn't intrude on such an important meeting so shamelessly!"

I couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.
"You're laughing? You brat!" The man's face turned red.
Elma sensed things were getting out of hand. She leaned closer to the man and whispered something in his ear. As soon as she finished, the anger on his face drained away, leaving him pale.
I smiled at him and said, "It's a pleasure. I'm Luan, the author of Re:Zero, Overlord, and Romeo and Juliet."
"..." The man froze, completely speechless.
I ignored him and turned to Elma. "Elma, I need money."
"Money? How much do you need?"
"A lot." I handed her the paper.
"Whaaaat???!! But this is huge!"
"Don't exaggerate, it's not even close to the cost of that mansion."
"Still, that's a lot of money. But why are you buying these places for your wedding? You should just rent a venue!"
"Wedding?!" The pale-faced man suddenly came back to life. He stood up excitedly and approached me. "So the famous author of Re:Zero is getting married?!"
He grabbed my hands as if we were close friends, congratulating me.
I didn't mind.
"Yes, I'm getting married. But it's a secret for now." I realized how careless that was and gave a bitter smile.
"Don't worry, Luan, he won't spread any rumors." Elma shot the man a glare sharp enough to kill.
He got the message and backed away, sitting down silently.
"All right, come with me," Elma said.
I followed her to the vault.

I took all the money I needed and stored it in my inventory. Then I said goodbye to Elma and teleported near the real estate office. This time, instead of teleporting directly inside, I walked there.
Quickly.
The moment I walked through the front door, the woman jumped in surprise.
"You're back already? How?"
"Doesn't matter. Here's the money. Hestia, did you handle the documents?"
"No, I didn't. If I sign them, the buildings will end up under my name. I can't do that."
"You should have signed them."
"Either way, we can only sign after the payment is complete."
"Fine."
I picked up the documents and began signing while the woman examined the money. She called in others to help count it, and it took several minutes before they were done.
I even got some change back, since I had brought more than necessary.
"Everything's in order. I'll contact some people to clean up both properties. You can pick up the keys within two days."
"That won't be necessary, since I'll be renovating both buildings. By the way, do you handle renovations, or know someone who does?"

I gave her the mansion's address, and with that, my business with her was done—for now. Feeling satisfied with my two purchases, we left the real estate office.
"Are you sure it's okay to spend this much money?" Haruhime asked.
"It's fine, I still have plenty left. I released new volumes not too long ago, and Romeo and Juliet has been selling really well."
"I see… You really are rich, aren't you?"
"Of course. Did you see the house we live in? I spent nearly all the savings I had at the time to buy it." I chuckled.
"I understand…"
We kept walking through the city for a few minutes toward the mansion when suddenly some fans began chasing after me.
And among them, I spotted someone.
'Ais…' I whispered her name.
I had completely forgotten about her.
If she finds out about my marriage to Hestia, Mikoto, and Lili, it'll all be over… I'll never be able to win her over!
