Chapter 181 - Chapter 180

Eldonia.

Some time later.

I was lying on the sofa in a completely absurd position, that is, upside down, with my legs thrown over the back and my head hanging down, and I was simply dying of boredom.

During this time, I did, or rather didn't do, absolutely everything I could, including studying divinity, which had made itself quite noticeable a couple of days earlier by creating a pillar of golden light that pierced the sky and illuminated the entire city and its immediate surroundings.

This was influenced by the sharp increase in the number of believers in me as their god, and there were simply an incredible number of them due to the spread of information about my focus and the rapid expansion of the city beyond its walls by almost twice its size, not without my small help in the form of creating building materials and water sources, but still.

That's why I decided to try to understand what domains were now under my control. The funny thing was that I had not one, but several, and I couldn't understand why I had received them. However, the main one was "Light", which I found quite amusing and ironic because it was also owned by the God of the Bible. Heh.

I "raised" my eyes and saw Mistiora neatly eating the treats brought by the servants, and then I thought.

Basically, she hadn't been doing anything all this time, so she must have some ideas about what to do. Mistiora has been traveling for quite some time, right? I think she must have a few thoughts on the matter.

- "Mistiora."

- "Yes, sir?"

- "I'm bored. Do you have any ideas for something to do?" I asked, to which Mistiora paused for a moment and then nodded briefly.

- "Of course, as you wish," she said, standing up, walking around the table, and approaching me. Mistiora knelt down near the sofa and looked into my eyes, which were filled with determination. "Whatever you desire, sir, I will fulfill to the fullest."

- "Huh?" I didn't understand as Mistiora reached for my face, closing her eyes, and her hand moved toward my pants. Of course, I stopped her, and she opened her eyes and looked at me in confusion.

- "Sir?"

- "Don't tell me the first thing that came to your mind was sex," I said with a raised eyebrow.

- "Is something wrong?" she asked with a completely calm expression, tilting her head to one side.

- "Let's say that's true."

- "I'm confident in my skills," she declared. "Let me take care of you."

- "That's not what I asked you to do," I said as her composure began to crack before my eyes and a shiver ran through her body.

- "P-please, sir, I... I really am capable..."

- "Like, you have no other ideas besides that? Games, maybe? Anything else?" I asked as Mistiora's composure finally evaporated, giving way to anxiety, shame, and... fear? She stopped trying to reach my lips and crotch, then lowered her head as if she were about to cry...

...and she did indeed shed a tear.

- "I-I'm sorry, sir... It's the only thing I know how to do..." she said in a trembling voice. "You've done so much for me, and I... I couldn't even..."

I raised an eyebrow and sat down normally.

Of course, I'm not a prude, and I understand that only someone impotent could refuse such a thing, but our relationship was simply not at the right level, and in principle, it wasn't planned, if you want to know the truth.

And besides, how could she not have had any other methods, even as simple as observation, in three hundred years? I mean, prostitutes had other methods of working besides sex; after all, in those days there was still no distinction between hostesses and prostitutes, right?

Then I remembered her circumstances and rubbed my temple.

Heh. I had already forgotten about her curse, which I had lifted myself. I have no doubt that because of its effect, she had nothing that could be called even remotely acceptable dialogue.

- "Ha..." I sighed and, placing my hand on her head, began to slowly stroke her hair, causing Mistiora to freeze as if she had turned into a statue. "I forgot about your curse, and it was stupid of me to ask you to do something you couldn't do. It's my fault, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you somehow."

- "No! You're wrong!" she immediately raised her head. "You didn't do anything wrong..."

- "Hush, that's an order," I interrupted her, continuing to stroke her hair. At first, Mistiora wanted to argue, but she obeyed and lowered her head. "Good girl. I may be a jerk, but I know how to admit my mistakes."

Hmm... To be honest, I didn't expect her to show so much emotion over such a small thing, well, considering her past. But I guess I shouldn't have expected anything. Heh.

In any case, putting this situation aside, what should I do? Visit Shield again? That doesn't sound particularly necessary. I'd only see what I've already seen, and that's not very interesting. Although...

- "My lord!" King of Eldonia cry suddenly rang out as he burst into the room, practically knocking the door off its hinges.

- "What's going on?" I raised an eyebrow, watching the panting king who was barely catching his breath.

- "There... There..." He stumbled, but couldn't finish, because a woman entered the doorway behind him, looking very much like Celestina, with blue eyes and long blond hair that trailed behind her, but she was more mature. And she was clearly a goddess, judging by the divinity emanating from her.

Well, she was dressed... Heh. She wasn't really wearing any clothes, except for a flower wreath on her head, a pair of necklaces around her neck and arms, and another one around her waist.

As soon as our eyes met, and I was about to smile and greet her, her eyes suddenly became empty, causing my eyebrow to rise in surprise.

The next moment, she raised her hand, and a magic circle appeared in front of it, rapidly accumulating a huge amount of mana. The guest clearly wanted to kill me, and, according to my estimates, it was an A-rank spell, causing the air itself to reek of magical power emanating from the guest and spreading throughout the castle.

I smiled and was about to release the chains when I suddenly sensed something. The spell, and indeed the goddess herself, were not only feeding on the guest's divinity. There was another source of power, and most importantly, it did not belong to a god or a mortal, but to...

...the world.

BOOM

The entire tower was instantly reduced to dust by a massive beam of green energy released by the goddess. The eastern and northern parts of the castle began to collapse, and clouds of smoke and dust covered half of the building and rose into the sky, where a hole in the clouds gaped, made by the same attack.

- "Hmm... Interesting..." I muttered thoughtfully and looked at the veil of dust hovering over the castle, holding the king and Mistiora in the air, covered by protective closed fields.

- "I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die!" the king kept shouting.

- "Sir! Sir! Are you all right?!" Mistiora shouted.

- "Yes, yes, calm down, both of you. You'll get in the way, so..." I rolled my eyes and teleported them to the outskirts of the city, then turned my gaze back to the base of the ruined tower, where I sensed the presence of the goddess. "So, what have I done to deserve such treatment, hm, world-kun?"

The next moment, the veil was dispelled by another similar attack, but twice as strong, which was blocked by my magic circle. Golden chains immediately appeared from under my feet and rushed towards the goddess, whose body was controlled by the world itself.

Since she was a goddess, the chains should have bound her, right? Well... not quite.

The chains reached their target and wrapped around her, but almost immediately crumbled into dust, just like the spirit. In response to my attempt to catch the goddess, two more beams shot out, which were again almost blocked. The key word here is "almost". This time they were three times stronger, which is why one beam was blocked, but the second was able to destroy the magic circle.

I managed to teleport to the side, but the attack still destroyed my right arm up to the shoulder, which regenerated after a couple of seconds. But it wasn't just my body that suffered; the goddess's skin also showed cracks.

I frowned as the goddess stood idly by, staring at me for some unknown reason.

Hmm... If this continues, the goddess will die, and I won't be able to get the answers I really wanted at the moment. Banishing the will of the world from its inhabitant was obviously a failed idea, because as soon as I did that, the body would be taken over again, which meant...

...I would need another place.

In a brief flash of light, I took on the form of Solomon and raised my hands, palms upward.

- "The Time of Coronation Has Come, He is the One who Begins All..." I began, and the goddess immediately began to gather energy for her next attack, apparently suspecting something was wrong.

Too late, though. Heh.

- "Ars Paulina."

And I finally know what I'm going to do in this world, don't I?
