Chapter 25 - Rest In The Grand Line

The sea was calm after the storm. The wreckage of the fortress‑ship drifted behind them, its captain slain, its crew defeated. Xefer lay against the mast, his body still weak, but his grin never faded. His women surrounded him, their laughter soft, their warmth constant.

‎

‎"Let's find a town," Xefer murmured. "We need rest. And I need a bed that isn't splintered wood."

‎

‎Keala chuckled, her flames flickering faintly. "Finally, you admit it."

‎Keeva smirked. "You'll collapse again if we don't."

‎Kunai's crimson eyes glowed faintly, her demonic aura shimmering. "Then let's go. There should be a port nearby."

‎

‎They sailed for hours until the outline of a town appeared on the horizon. It was one of the smaller settlements of the Grand Line, medium‑sized, bustling with traders, sailors, and adventurers. The docks were crowded, ships moored side by side, the air thick with salt and smoke.

‎

‎As they stepped onto the pier, townsfolk glanced at them curiously. Xefer's battered body, the girls' bruises, and their aura of strength drew whispers. But no one dared approach.

‎

‎They walked through the streets, past taverns and shops, until they found an inn. It was large, well‑kept, with lanterns glowing warmly at the entrance. Xefer pushed open the door, his women close behind.

‎

‎The innkeeper looked up, startled by their presence. Xefer's voice was calm but firm. "We need a big room. One with a bed large enough for all of us."

‎

‎The innkeeper blinked, then nodded quickly. "Of course, sir. The best room we have."

‎

‎Xefer paid without hesitation, dropping gold coins onto the counter. The innkeeper's eyes widened, but he said nothing, only bowing as he handed them the key.

‎

‎They climbed the stairs, opened the door, and stepped inside. The room was spacious, with a single massive bed dominating the center. The girls laughed, their exhaustion easing.

‎

‎Keala flopped onto the bed, stretching. "Finally, something soft."

‎Keeva joined her, grinning. "Better than a deck full of blood."

‎Kunai smirked, sitting at the edge. "At least you two won't fight over space."

‎

‎Xefer chuckled, lowering himself carefully onto the bed. "This will do."

‎

‎They took turns bathing, the inn's hot water easing their bruises. Steam filled the room, laughter echoing as they teased each other. When they emerged, dressed in fresh clothes, their spirits were lighter.

‎

‎Downstairs, the inn's dining hall was lively. Sailors drank, merchants bargained, adventurers boasted. Xefer and his women sat together at a long table, ordering food and drink. Plates of roasted meat, bowls of rice, and mugs of ale were brought out.

‎

‎They ate hungrily, their bodies needing the nourishment. Between bites, they talked, their voices soft but filled with warmth.

‎

‎Keala leaned against Xefer, whispering, "You scared me when you collapsed. But seeing you smile even then… it made me realize how much you trust us."

‎

‎Keeva smirked, sipping her drink. "He trusts us because he knows we'll never let him fall. Right, captain?"

‎

‎Xefer grinned, his voice teasing. "I collapsed in your arms. That's not falling. That's winning."

‎

‎Kunai's crimson eyes glowed faintly, her aura shimmering. "You're reckless. But you're ours. And we'll keep you alive, no matter what."

‎

‎They laughed, their bond stronger than ever. The Fortress Fortress Fruit rested in Xefer's bag, its power waiting.

‎

‎The night stretched on. They ate, drank, and talked, their voices weaving together like threads of fate. Small jokes, tender words, playful teasing — all filled the air.

‎

‎Keala teased Xefer about his collapse, Keeva boasted about killing more pirates, Kunai smirked at their rivalry. Xefer listened, laughed, and teased them back, his heart full.

‎

‎When they returned to their room, the massive bed awaited. They lay together, their bodies close, their warmth shared. Xefer closed his eyes, his grin satisfied. "This… this is what makes it worth it."

‎

‎The girls whispered sweet words, kissed his forehead, and held him close. The Fortress Fortress Fruit rested nearby, its destiny waiting.
